Second robbery suspect caught

The second suspect in the April 12 attempted armed robbery of First South Bank at 2801 Cashwell Drive is now in custody.
Germaine Ann Alecia, 27, of 116 Edgemont Drive Lot 4, Snow Hill, was arrested Tuesday by the Goldsboro Police Department for one count of felony attempted armed robbery with a dangerous weapon and placed under a $25,000 secured bond in the Wayne County Jail.
Her first appearance in Wayne County Court is today.
Maj. Anthony Carmon with the Goldsboro Police Department said Ms. Alecia did not brandish the firearm used during the incident at First South Bank.
The second suspect in the attempted robbery of First South Bank, who is also a suspect in the armed robbery of the Handy Mart at 2495 U.S. 13 North, was arrested on April 20.
Malik Niquan Thomas, of 998 North N.C. Hwy. 903, Snow Hill, was placed under a $125,000 secured bond for the attempted bank robbery and an additional $125,000 secured bond for the armed robbery of the Handy Mart and was confined in the Wayne County Jail.
Carmon said Ms. Alecia is not a suspect in the robbery of the Handy Mart, and could not say what events unfolded that led to her arrest.
"I'm not going to be able to give you details of the investigation," Carmon said.
A third suspect is still wanted for the robbery of the Handy Mart that is not currently believed to have a connection to the First South Bank incident.
Authorities have identified Isiah Treyshon Kirkman, 22, of Snow Hill, as the second suspect in the Hand Mart robbery. A warrant for Kirkman's arrest on charges of attempted robbery wiht a dangerous weapon has been issued.
