Three Goldsboro teens are charged with the armed robbery of a Pizza Hut delivery driver in the 1700 block of Harrell Street, Saturday night.
A fourth suspect is sought, but has yet to be identified. All three suspects in custody are 16 years old.
According to a press release, Nonye Holmes, 1796 E. Holly St., Jai'quon Spruill, 1907 Day Circle, and Tyana Morrison, 1708 Day Circle, are each charged robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit robbery. All three suspects were placed in the Wayne County Jail and held under $200,000 secured bonds each.
Holmes and Spruill also face charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a minor. Each were given an additional $50,000 secured bond.
Investigators could not say whether this robbery had any connection to a series of pizza delivery drivers that took place over the latter months of 2015.
"There was a string of pizza delivery (drivers) robbed, but I don't know if this is connected," Maj. Anthony Carmon said.
According to the press release, the robbery took place at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday as Pizza Hut employee Thomas Curtis, 27, was attempting to deliver an order to 1715 Harrell St. A black man approached and pointed a gun at him, demanding the food and all of his money.
Curtis handed over $110 in cash, a $700 cell phone, four pizzas and an order of brownies and a bottle of Pepsi.
In the meantime, three other subjects got into Curtis' 2013 Dodge Charger and drove off. Police responded, and a description of the vehicle was sent out over the radio. It was just after midnight when a patrol officer saw the vehicle heading south on North John Street near Mulberry Street and the three occupants jumped out.
Holmes, Spruill and Morrison were each caught as they tried to run from the vehicle, the report said. A firearm was found in the car and a stolen license plate was attached to the vehicle.
