Traffic stop results in heroin arrest

The Goldsboro/Wayne County Interagency Drug Task Force arrested a Goldsboro man for possession of heroin and marijuana Thursday, following a traffic stop.
Quanterrian Yelverton, 33, 1209 Judy Place, is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $4,000 secured bond.
According to a sheriff's office press release, Drug Squad officers were conducting an investigation prompted by citizen complaints. After witnessing a drug transaction, the investigators initiated a traffic stop. Inside the car were 112 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a bundle of heroin.
Yelverton is due to appear in Wayne County District Court May 6.
