Man chases suspect after break-in try

A fleet-footed citizen chased a suspect from the scene of an alleged motor vehicle break-in at 1:20 a.m. Sunday.
The suspect got away, but was soon captured by Goldsboro police.
Jacob David Smith, 21, of Audubon Avenue, is charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $2,000 secured bond.
The unidentified witness told police he chased Smith from the scene in the 1700 block of Peachtree Street, but then lost sight of him.
According to the press release, the witness flagged down a passing GPD patrol car, and an officer then radioed for backup. Police "saturated the area" and were able to locate Smith.
