Charles P. Gaylor III

District Court Judge Charles P. Gaylor III of Goldsboro has announced he will seek re-election to the 8th Judicial District bench.

Gaylor was elected in 2008 and in announcing his bid for re-election, cited his experience and knowledge of the law.

"One of the things I learned early on is that even after practicing law for 31 years, one does not know it all," Gaylor said. "To keep up with the changes in the law and to handle the huge volume of people in the District Court system, one must be willing to participate in continuous training.

"Since becoming a judge, I have attended all of the judicial conferences and participated in the training offered. In addition, I have participated in training at the Institute of Government to keep myself up-to-date on the laws that affect the many types of court that we hold. It takes discipline and commitment to handle this job, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to do the job well.

"For those who come to my court, I promise that you will be treated with dignity, respect and that you will get a fair hearing in as timely a manner as is possible.

"When re-elected, I promise to continue to give good service to the people of this district by listening to those who appear before me and make sure that you have your day in court."

The 8th Judicial District includes Wayne, Lenoir and Greene counties.
