Jack Hallow, right, decorates a snowman Wednesday at the Arts Council of Wayne County. He put the snowman on the front of his gingerbread house. Jack and other children learned about the history of the gingerbread house from instructor Dawn McDonald before decorating their own creations. The houses will be on display in the window of the old Heilig-Meyers furniture store from Nov. 22 until Dec. 22. The Arts Council on North John Street will open its Holiday Art Market tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. to officially kick off the gift-giving season.
