Dave Schuette named advertising mgr

Dave Schuette has been named the advertising manager for The News-Argus.
Schuette will be a key part of the advertising and marketing team led by Advertising Director Reg Freemyer, News-Argus Publisher Hal Tanner III said.
"Dave brings a wealth of experience to our advertising department and we expect he will become a significant part of our effort to reach the public through our advertisers," Tanner said.
Schuette, 63, is a native of Wisconsin and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He earned his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Schuette served most recently as retail advertising manager for the Hilton Head Island Packet and Beaufort (S.C.) Gazette. Previously, he worked for newspapers in Wisconsin, Iowa and for the Star-News of Wilmington.
He served as president of the Cape Fear Advertising Federation while working in Wilmington and was on the board of directors of the Cape Fear Sales and Marketing Executives organization.
Schuette is married. He and his wife, Mary, have two children, Adam, who lives in England, and a daughter, Holly, who lives in Wilmington.
In his spare time, Schuette enjoys playing golf. He also has been active in Rotary, Kiwanis, United Way and the Optimist Club.
"I look forward to working with businesses in the Goldsboro market and helping them with their marketing and advertising," Schuette said.
