Cpl. Chris Cook of the 1st North Carolina Cavalry re-enactment group plays his pocket coronet for visitors at a Civil War living history demonstration held at the Charles B. Aycock Birthplace Saturday afternoon. The day's programming was designed to prepare both horses and riders for the upcoming re-enactment season. Two of Aycock's brothers and his brother-in-law served in the 16th Battalion N.C. Cavalry during the war.
