Cesar Becorril Romero
Police arrested a suspect in the murder investigation of a Carolina Pines trailer court resident found dead on Saturday night, a detective said.
Goldsboro authorities sought Cesar Becorril Romero, 22, of Whispering Lane, Dudley, investigator Dwayne Dean said.
Authorities still have not described the nature of the death of Nidia Yubitza Carrera Solorzano, 23, or her injuries.
Ms. Solorzano's death was originally classified as a death investigation, reported by responding officers as a "dead on arrival" case.
Dean began a homicide investigation immediately, and police officially changed the status of the case to homicide early on Monday morning.
Sheriff's Office deputies served Romero with a warrant at his residence without incident around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, and he was held in the Wayne County Jail without privilege of bond on a charge of murder, according to a news release.
Romero is first scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 5, according to police.
Attempts to reach Dean or Sgt. Chad Calloway were unsuccessful this morning as most county and city offices are closed for the holiday.
Anyone with information about Ms. Solorzano's death is asked to call investigator Dwayne Dean at 580-4211, or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 735-2255.
