Brooke Alexandria Neal and Kenneth Mark Freeman Jr. of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 5, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with Dr. Penny Ziemer officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donald C. Neal Jr. and Joann Willetts Neal of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Iris B. Neal Thomas of Goldsboro, the late Donald C. Neal of Goldsboro and Mary B. Willetts and the late William H. Willetts of Goldsboro.
She is a 2013 graduate of Wayne Country Day School, a 2017 graduate of Campbell University and is currently a graduate student at Edinboro University. She is employed as a substance abuse counselor and associate professional on the community support team at Waynesboro Family Clinic.
The groom is the son of Kenneth Mark and Sharon Savage Freeman of Dudley and the grandson of Kenneth D. and Lois M. Freeman of High Point and Margie W. Savage and the late George M. Savage of Goldsboro.
He is a 2011 graduate of Spring Creek High School and a 2015 graduate of East Carolina University. He is employed as farm manager at Goldsboro Milling.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a silk ballgown featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline, a pearl beaded bodice and a chapel-length train.
She wore a flower crown and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white garden roses, porcelina spray roses, white hydrangeas, Queen Anne’s lace, white hypericum berries and silver dollar eucalyptus.
Olivia Neal, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Parker, sister of the groom; Lillian Freeman, sister of the groom; Savannah Barlow; Sarah Best; Schyler Clark; Kiania Henriques; Sue Ann Forrest; Kerri Jo Gurley; Taylor Holder; Bliss Jackson; Hannah King; Payton Meadows; Danielle Peedin; and Callie Thornton.
Kenneth Mark Freeman, father of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Adam Parker, Chris Ostrander, Gabe Bowman, Zach Carter, Justin Casey, Ryan Grainger, Zach Grantham, Will Janning, Tyler Lynch, Dayton Meadows, Martin Parrish, Deep Patel and Blaine Stafford.
Scarlett Barlow and Marley Parrish were junior bridesmaids.
Shelby Barlow and Paris Jackson were flower girls.
Louis Maxwell was ringbearer.
Donna Little directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Catherine Mallard. April and Addison DeSelms distributed programs.
Pastor Linda Burroughs said a prayer for the couple.
Scripture Reader was Jennifer Parrish.
A program of traditional wedding music was provided by Judy Lewis, pianist; Bess Sawyer, organist; and Doug Tart, trumpeter. Charlotte Kornegay, vocalist, sang “How Great Thou Art,” accompanied by Luke Teague, guitarist. Vocalist Jeff Lane sang “The Lord’s Prayer.”
The couple left the church in a 1931 Model A Ford that once belonged to the bride;s great-grandfather, James Patrick Best.
The reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Club with music by The RubberBand Band from Greensboro.
After a wedding trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple resides in the Rosewood community.
The rehearsal dinner was held at The Terrace Room, with music by Eric Schreffler, guitarist and vocalist.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party at the Neal home Oct. 29, 2016; a bachelor and bachelorette weekend at Topsail Beach June 9 through 11, 2017; a wedding shower at Rosewood First Baptist Church, hosted by Renee Parrish, aunt of the bride, and ladies of the church; a bridal breakfast celebration at the Bell home, hosted by Kelli Gurley Bell and Kerri Jo Gurley; a wedding day bridal brunch at the Neal Home hosted by Beth Osborne, aunt of the bride, and Mary Willetts, grandmother of the bride; and the wedding day groom’s brunch at the Farmhouse in Rosewood hosted by Valerie Barlow, aunt of the bride, and Hillary Smith Outlaw, friend of the couple.
