Ellis-Friesen
Stacy Lee Ellis and Luke Friesen exchanged vows June 10, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. at The Umstead Hotel in Cary, N.C. The Rev. Gerald Donnelly officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Kirk and Robin Hines Ellis of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Edward W. Ellis and the late Annie Laurie Ellis of Goldsboro, Clara Evans Hines and the late Melvin Hines of Princeton.
She is a 2009 graduate of North Carolina State University. She is employed as an international virtual business manager.
The groom is the son of Glenn Friesen of Calgary, AB, and Donna Friesen of Calgary and the grandson of the late Menno and Alice Friesen of Saskatoon, SK, and Les and Shirley Warden of Regina, SK.
He is a 2009 graduate of Queens University at Kingston. He is employed as a petroleum engineer.
The bride was escorted by her father, Kirk Ellis.
She wore a silk trumpet silhouette gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline and bridal train paired with a fingertip-length tulle veil with silk trim.
Kelly Cummings served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Skye McGinley, sibling of the groom; Lisa Rochette; Mary Treppendahl; Mary Beth Sheffield; and Marsha Price.
Jay Wilkins served as best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Ellis, sibling of the bride; Chris Stoicheff, cousin of the groom; Rod Herradence; Alex Horner; Ian Scott; and Mike Arness.
Tom Moritz-Friesen, sibling of the groom, served as the presenter of the rings.
Leah McGinley, niece of the groom, was the honorary flower girl.
The reception was held in the grand ballroom at The Umstead Hotel
After a wedding trip to The French Riviera, the couple resides in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
