Wegman-Tutterow
Rachel Amelia Wegman and Benjamin Josiah Tutterow exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 24, 2017, at 6 p.m. at North Carolina Botanical Garden, with the Rev. Tim Grant, uncle of the bride, and the Rev. Bryan Fowler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David Michael and Carolyn Smith Wegman of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Shelton Eugene Smith Sr. and the late Peggy Crawford Smith of Goldsboro and David Louis and Evelyn Lorrier Wegman of Swansboro.
She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2012 and Campbell University in 2017 with a master’s degree in business administration. She is employed with Campbell University’s Physician's Assistant School as a medical education specialist.
The groom is the son of Jeffrey Dee and Sheila Shore Tutterow of Mocksville and the grandson of Peggy Daniel Tutterow and the late Joe Nelson Tutterow of Mocksville and the late Raymond Clayton and Lydia Baity Shore of Mocksville.
He graduated from Davie County High School in 2006 and High Point University in 2010 with a master’s degree in the physician assistant practice program. He is currently a full-time student attending Campbell University’s Doctor of Pharmacy Program. While in school, he is employed as a specialty pharmacy technician at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
The bride was escorted by her father, Michael Wegman, and given in marriage by parents, Michael and Carolyn Wegman.
She wore an ivory, lace, sleeveless fit-n-flare gown with a bateau neckline and an illusion back.
She carried a bouquet of white and green mixed summer flowers.
Mrs. Courtney Wegman Gorman, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor.
Mrs. Hollin Ponzio, friend of bride, served as bridesmaid.
Miss Charlotte Kornegay, cousin of bride, was a junior bridesmaid.
Mr. Jeffrey Tutterow, father of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Mr. Nathaniel Tutterow, brother of the groom and Mr. Haroon Mesdaq, friend of the groom.
Ushers were Mr. Michael Gorman, brother-in-law of the bride; Mr. Caleb Grant, cousin of the bride; Mr. Parker Kornegay, cousin of the bride; Mr. Clayton Edwards, friend of the groom; and Mr. Adam Sheesley, friend of the groom.
Miss Annabel Kornegay, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Masters Holden and Hudson Cook, friends of the bride, were ringbearers.
Mrs. Rebekka Mathews directed the wedding.
Mr. Jeffrey Tutterow, vocalist, was accompanied by Mr. Nathaniel Tutterow, guitarist, and Mr. Blaine Russel, mandolinist.
The string trio “Save the Date” provided music for the ceremony.
The bride’s parents, Michael and Carolyn Wegman, hosted the reception at the Botanical Garden immediately following the ceremony.
After a wedding trip to Kennebunkport, Maine, and Boston, Mass., the couple resides in Dunn, N.C.
The groom’s parents, Jeffrey and Sheila Tutterow, hosted a rehearsal dinner at Lantern Restaurant in Chapel Hill Friday, June 23, 2017.
Events held before the wedding included a shower March 11, 2017, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clay Lawrence of Mocksville; a shower April 1, 2017, hosted by family members of the bride at the Arts Council of Wayne County; and a bridal luncheon April, 15, 2017, hosted by family members of the groom at The Graylyn Estate of Winston-Salem.
