Parks-Kearney
Skyler Casey Parks and Justin Blake Kearney exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 28, 2017, at 5 p.m. at the home of the bride’s father, with the Rev. Richard Cuddington officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Nelson Parks and the late Jill Parks of Seven Springs and the granddaughter of the late Wesley and Irene Parks of Seven Springs, Harold and Faye Barwick of Mount Olive and Kenneth and Sue Jones of Pink Hill.
She graduated from Wayne Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Sampson Regional Medical Center in the surgical department.
The groom is the son of Phillip Kearney of Goldsboro and Brenda Kearney of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Stephen “Pete” Kearney of Greene County, the late Adine Kearney of Goldsboro and the late Milton and Leona Langston of Goldsboro.
He is employed by Coastal Beverage Co. as a presales representative and is also a musician and lead vocalist with Blake Kearney Band.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore an allure fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline, crystal beading across the bodice and lush tulle layers along the skirt.
The veil was chapel-length double-layered sheer ribbon edged.
The flowers were hand-tied with moonstone white roses, pink spray roses, green hanging amaranthus, white hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus accented with a charm picturing the bride’s late mother.
Morgan Jackson, sister of bride, served as matron of honor, while the bridesmaids were Hayley Ginn, sister of groom, and Cayla Barwick, Morgan Howard, Scarlett Jernigan, Chelsie Spurgeon and Beth Thigpen, friends of the bride.
Phillip Kearney served as best man. The groomsmen were Zach Carter, Dex Jackson, Eric Knoll, Justin Sasser, Will Smith and Derek Weaver, friends of the groom.
Eliza Jackson, niece of the bride, was best little lady.
Caison Kearney, son of the groom, served as best little man.
Linda Williamson directed the wedding and reception. Presiding at the register was Karen Cox and Ava Ginn. McKayla Alves served as vocalist, while Aaron Alves played guitar.
The reception was held at the home of the bride’s father.
After a wedding trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple will reside in Seven Springs.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the grooms parents, was held at Ribeyes Steakhouse.
Various showers and parties were held for the couple, including a miscellaneous shower at Northeast Free Will Baptist Church given by Sue Jones, Karen Cox, Wanda Howard and Eileen Whitfield Nov. 20; a miscellaneous shower given by church friends at the home of Sue Beaman Nov. 27; a gift card shower given by the Parks family Dec. 4; a monogram shower given by Chelsie Spurgeon at her home Dec. 10; a Christmas shower Dec. 18 given by Hayley and Ava Ginn and Brenda Kearney at the Ginn home; and a bridal luncheon given Jan. 21 by Gloria Flowers at her home.
