Katelyn DeClark Price of Concord and Holt Dawson Rains of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 11, 2015, at half past five at Central United Methodist Church in Concord, with the Rev. J.T. Craig officiating. The bride is the daughter of Jeffrey Wayne Price of Charlotte and Karon DeClark Miller and Ron David Miller of Concord and the granddaughter of the late Weldon Robert and Barbara Lou Price and the late Ronald Richard and Caroline Joy DeClark. The bride is a graduate of Concord High School, and graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in merchandising with a minor in business administration. She is an alum of ECU’s Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority Gamma Beta Chapter. She is currently employed at the Wayne County Public Library. She is employed as the children’s librarian assistant. The groom is the son of Walter Bruce Rains III and Angela Ardis Clifton Rains of Goldsboro and the grandson of Grace Moore Rains of Goldsboro, the late Walter Bruce Rains Jr., April Lynne Ardis of Goldsboro and the late George Marion Ardis. The groom is a graduate of Rosewood High School, attended Catawba College and graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is an alum of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity North Carolina Kappa Chapter. He is employed at a family-owned business in Goldsboro. He is employed as a partner/co-owner of B & G Grill and Restaurant. The bride was escorted by her stepfather, Ronald David Miller, and given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald David Miller. She wore an ivory Allure Couture fitted slim gown in all-over Venice lace featuring a a beautiful raised neckline with a dramatic V-shaped back. A chapel-length train and covered buttons completed this elegant traditional style gown. For her headpiece, the bride chose to wear her sister’s heirloom bridal veil. This elegant fingertip-length beaded edge veil was trimmed with Swarovski crystals. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, white hydrangeas, Swarovski crystals, pearls and hypericum berries. Kendall Joy Burrage, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor, while Amber Aileen Nivens, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were April Grace Rains, sister of the groom; Kathryn Leigh DeClark, cousin of the bride; Chelsea Jane Stover, Raya Lynn Thomas and Kelly Lorraine Stover, sorority sisters of the bride; and Kenzie Moorman Dalton and Julia Boger Dalton, friends of the bride. Walter Bruce Rains III, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Justin Everette Price, brother of the bride; Richard Eugene Burrage Jr., brother in-law of bride; Thomas Bryan Whitmore IV, fraternity brother of groom; and Robert Michael Franks, Bryant Franklin Hill, Robert Taylor Allen, David Wayne Templeton and Richard Goss Kendall, friends of the groom. Honorary bridesmaid was Carrie DeClark Kelly, cousin of the bride. Pryce Kensley Burrage and Suzanna Blake Miller, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Hudson David Miller, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer. Leslie McGuire, friend of the family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jessica Smith Mitchell, friend of the bride. Aubrey Lynn Sasser, cousin of the groom, distributed programs. Sign bearers were Richard Eugene Burrage III “Tripp” and Britt William Miller, nephews of the bride. Briley Hussey, sorority sister of the bride, was the vocalist. Susan Theodos was the organist. Instrumental soloist was Todd Parrott, friend of the family. Following the ceremony, a dinner reception and celebration was hosted by the bride’s parents at the Historic Concord Hotel. After a wedding trip to honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Goldsboro, N.C. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Piedmont Renaissance Center in Historic Downtown Concord. Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower in Goldsboro March 1 by the groom’s family and friends; a bridal shower and brunch March 7 in Concord hosted by the brides friends and family; a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 10 hosted by friends of the bride; a bridal shower hosted by the Wayne County Library staff; a bachelorette party for the bride at the Skytop Restaurant in Charlotte, N.C.; and a bachelor party/golf weekend for the groom in Mrytle Beach, S.C., hosted by friends of the couple.
