Mary Covington Walker of Raleigh and Edward Eugene Coleman III of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 16, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, with the Rev. Rick Clayton and the Rev. Jim Harry officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Dawes Walker Jr. and Lynne Moody Walker of Goldsboro, the granddaughter of Robert Dawes Walker Sr. of Raleigh, the late Gertrude Covington Walker and the late John Robert and Mary John Moody and the stepgranddaughter of Mary Virginia Moody of Greenville, N.C., and Carole Madden Walker of Raleigh, N.C.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Meredith College and a 2010 graduate of Campbell School of Pharmacy. She did her pediatric pharmacy residency at Georgia Regents Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in Georgia. She is a pediatric pharmacist at Wake Med in Raleigh. She made her debut in 2003.
The groom is the son of Edward Eugene Coleman Jr. and Sylvia Inge Coleman of Boydton, Va., and the grandson of Edward Eugene Coleman Sr. and Leona Garrett Coleman of Boydton and the late Joseph Milton and Helen Ashworth Inge.
The groom graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004 and is a graduate of Campbell School of Law in 2007. He is now a member of Ragsdale Liggett Law Firm in Raleigh.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Suzanne Renfrow Walker served as matron of honor, while Harper Story Gwatney was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Cortney Ames Hart and Jennifer Coleman Willis.
Edward Eugene Coleman Jr. served as best man. Groomsmen were John Bowen Walker, William Joseph Coleman and Robert Dawes Walker III.
Ushers were David Robert Broyles and Matthew Ryan Bisplinghoff.
Mary Virginia Willis and Liza Jane Willis were flower girls.
Honorary bridesmaids were Erin Logan Tollison, Kelly Beth Hapgood, Mary Elizabeth Peacock, Talley Rouse Evans, Sarah Elizabeth Kassouf, Lindsey DelaFosse Turnau, Helen Susan Stevens, Hillery Adelle Gibbons, Wheeler Burns Crawford and Katerina Katsanevas Butler.
Dianne Finan and Patrick Finan were vocalists. David Witt was organist.
Wedding director was Kailey Branham.
Church director was Jerry Lachapelle.
A reception was held at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
The couple resides in Raleigh, N.C.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Sitti Restaurant.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party March 29 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Perry given by friends of the bride’s family; a barbecue April 25 at the Stag Club in Raleigh given by friends of the bride and groom; a bridal shower April 26 at Mae Grimmer Alumnae House at Meredith College given by Talley R. Evans and Susan Rouse; an engagement party June 14 at the Glen Cove Farm in Boydton, Va., given by the groom’s family; a brunch June 15 in Boydton, Va., given by friends of the groom’s family; a monogram shower June 28 at the home of Karia Jeffreys given by Margaret Gable Eller, Harper Story Gwatney, Kathryn Jeffreys Rowlett and Erin Logan Tollison; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon Aug. 15 at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh given by Carole Walker, Trudy Roberts, Kathy Keith, Amanda Ramseur and Peggy Ramseur.
