Dawson-Davis
Logan Blair Dawson and Matthew Logan Davis of Winston-Salem exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 14, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the North Carolina Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores, N.C., with pastor Andy Stovall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Kim Dawson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Lucile Dawson and the late Ben Dawson of Goldsboro, the late Frankie and Janet Gooding of Fremont and Rollin and Shirley Moye of Burlington.
The bride is a 2008 graduate of Wayne Christian School in Goldsboro. She is a 2014 graduate of the the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill.
She is employed as a pharmacist at Rite-Aid.
The groom is the son of Hal and Wanda Davis of Goldsboro and the grandson of Nellie Davis and the late George H. Davis of Roper and Janice Stillman and the late John R. Stillman of Roper.
He is a 2008 graduate of Wayne Christian School in Goldsboro. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. He received a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Wake Forest University in 2014, and he is currently pursuing his PhD in biomedical engineering at Wake Forest.
The bride was escorted by her father, Larry Dawson, and given in marriage by her mother and father.
She wore a bridal gown made of organza fabric with a ruched fitted bodice and a sweetheart neckline with ruffles of organza swirls throughout the skirt and train.
She wore a crystal beaded veil.
The bridal bouquet was made with a white hydrangea base, white callas, white parrot tulips, white peonies and white orchids.
Brittany Combs served as matron of honor, while bridesmaids were Dawn Howe, sister of the bride, Jessica Sloan, sister of the groom; Sarah Stutts, Kaitlyn Taylor and Carry Meehan, friends of the bride; and Courtney Howell, cousin of the bride.
Hal Davis, father of groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Gray Sloan, brother-in-law of the groom, and Andrew Radford, Jonathan Greene, Hayden Gardner, Josh Munson and Clark Rose, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Dylan Smith and Cody Howell, cousins of the bride.
Kate Hansen, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Ethan Howe, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Becky Davis directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Robin Wheeler, aunt of the bride.
Majena Howell, aunt of the bride, distributed programs.
Greeters at the wedding were Bobby and Carolyn Grady, uncle and aunt of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Sandy Stillman-Alvin, pianist and vocalist, and Christopher Easom, vocalist and guitarist.
A reception was held at the North Carolina Aquarium, catered by Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on the eve of the wedding at Floyd’s 1921 Restaurant in Morehead City, N.C.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower hosted by family and friends on March 23, 2014, at Saint John Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro, N.C.; a wedding party hosted by Jessica and Gray Sloan at their home in Garner, N.C., on May 17, 2014.; a bachelorette weekend hosted by the bridesmaids in Morehead City, N.C., the weekend of May 3; a bachelor weekend hosted by the groomsmen in Morehead City, N.C., the weekend of June 6; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon hosted by the bride on June 13, 2014, at Ribeyes Restaurant in Beaufort, N.C.
