Player-Redding
Lauren Elizabeth Player of Goldsboro and Dillon Alexander Redding of Holly Springs exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 17, 2014, at 5 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Carol Pierson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Troy and Kim Player of Goldsboro, the granddaughter of David and Pat Player of Sumter, S.C.. and Carolyn Robertson and the late Charles Robertson of Sumter and the great-granddaughter of Reedy Herring of Sumter, S.C.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in history and economics in 2012. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Master of Arts degree in teaching in secondary social studies education May 9, 2014.
The groom is the son of Todd and Wendie Redding of Holly Springs and the grandson of Joseph and Kay Redding of Chelsea, Mich., Edward and Rebecca Steele of Ridgeley, W. Va., and Jane Maxson and the late Bob Maxson of Wiley Ford, W. Va.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and English. He is currently attending the University of North Carolina School of Law, and will graduate in May 2015.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an A-Line, strapless sweetheart dress with all over alencon lace and a chapel-length train. Her veil was cathedral-length. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory hydrangeas, garden roses and ivory lisianthus.
Lindsay Ann Player, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lexie Player, Mary Catherine Evans, Jamie Harford, Jessica Daniel, Savannah Redding and Hailey Johnson.
Todd Redding, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Keith Gordon, Bryce Creedon, Kendall Ashe, Grayson Street, Andy Rives and Austin Johnson. Ushers were Matthew Evans, Josh Player, Logan Player and Reed Player.
Marlia Morris was flower girl.
The reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Troy Player.
The rehearsal was held at Hinnant Family Vineyards in Pine Level, N.C., May 16, 2014, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Todd Redding.
An engagement party was given by the bride’s parents at Weathervane Restaurant in Chapel Hill, N.C. A Christmas shower was given by Hettie Grisette, Helen Jernigan and Betsy Wisniewski at the home of Hettie Grisette. A bridal shower was given by Hailey Johnson at her home. A post-rehearsal dinner event was given by Jessica Daniel and family.
After a wedding cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple resides in Chapel Hill, N.C.
