Boyette-Whitfield
TIMBERLAKE, N.C. — Rebekah Paige Boyette of Hurdle Mills and Ryan Madison Whitfield exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 20, 2012 at 5 p.m. at the Homestead Steakhouse and Restaurant, with the Rev. Norma Walters officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Scott Everitt Boyette of Princeton and Melanie Jayne Herring of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Benjamin Gray Boyette and Janet Everitt Boyette-Denning of Princeton and Peggy Uzzell Herring and the late Gerald Keith Herring, Sr. of Goldsboro.
She is a 2004 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2010 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in early elementary education. She is employed as a fourth-grade teacher in the Person County School System.
The groom is the son of Ted Madison and Patricia Moore Whitfield of Hurdle Mills and the grandson of Nancy Clayton Whitfield and the late Ora Rainey Whitfield of Hurdle Mills and the late John Henry and Billie Jean Moore of Hurdle Mills.
He is a 2002 graduate of Person High School and a 2005 graduate of Sandhills Community College with an associate's degree in landscape gardening. He is employed as project manager at Nolan Thomas and Co. Sports Turf Contractors.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a chantilly lace A-line gown with full organza overlay that featured a sweetheart neckline and full button closure down the back and chapel-length train. The bride also wore a chantilly lace bolero jacket. In her hair she wore a satin flower and feather broach and carried a fall-colored bouquet featuring gerber daisies, spray roses, standard roses, alstromeria, stock, hypericum berries and greenery. Stems were tied with orange silk and laced with green silk. Entwined inside the bouquet was a handkerchief bonnet which the bride wore on her christening day at 3 months old given to her by her Uncle Gerald.
Sara Strickland McLamb served as matron of honor, while bridesmaids were Brittany Peedin Barefoot and Kristina Lois Peedin.
Ted Madison Whitfield served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Scott Everitt Boyette Jr. and Nicholas Garrett Morton.
Mrs. Brenda C. Hurdle directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Miss Janey Rivers Jones. Miss Abby Leigh Jones distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Gerald Keith Herring Jr., pianist and Scott E. Boyette, father of the bride and Scotty Boyette, brother of the bride, vocalist.
A buffet dinner reception was held at the Homestead Steakhouse and Restaurant hosted by bride’s parents.
After a wedding trip to the mountains of North Carolina the couple resides in Hurdle Mills, N.C.
A rehearsal dinner was held Oct. 19 at the home of Phillip Whitfield, cousin of the groom. Hosted by groom’s parents. A Christmas in July shower was held July 29 hosted by Sara McLamb and Becky Strickland and held at the McLamb home. A kitchen shower was given Aug. 11 by Elizabeth Babcock of Hurdle Mills and held in the Babcock home. An Initials Inc. shower was held Aug. 26 and hosted by Megan Lee and Kim Wellons of Princeton, N.C., and held in the Lee home. A miscellaneous shower was held Sept. 23 at Casey’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro, N.C. hosted by the Guiding Light Sunday School Class. A miscellaneous shower was held Oct. 8 at Storey’s Creek Elementary School in Roxboro, N.C., given by friends of the bride. A bridesmaids brunch was held Oct. 6 at the Lane Tree Golf Club, given by Peggy U. Herring and Angelia H. Jones.
