Brittany Paige King and Zachary Lane Williams exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 21, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City, with Dr. Glenn Phillips Jr. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Roger Earl and Melody Scott King of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of William “Billy” and Audrey Davis King of Goldsboro and Cecil Griffith Scott Sr. and Judy McCullen Scott of Goldsboro.
She is a 2007 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2010 graduate of Wilson Community College’s surgical technology program. She is employed as an optometrist technician at Atlantic Eye Center.
The groom is the son of Tony Lane and Melanie Bruce Williams of Goldsboro and the grandson of Johnny Robert Williams and the late Angerlane Whitfield Williams of Rocky Mount and Walter Richard Bruce Jr. and Carla Davis Bruce of Goldsboro.
He is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2009 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and Bachelor of Arts in political science. He is employed as an insurance adjuster at Sentry Insurance.
The bride was escorted by her father, Roger King, and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory lace Maggie Sottero dress with a sweetheart neckline and mermaid fit. It featured a satin belt with handmade flowers.
Her headpiece was an ivory fingertip veil trimmed with crystal beads.
The bridal bouquet consisted of sunflowers, green spider poms, purple tulips and asters, along with a touch of orange roses.
Ashley King was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Heather Farmer, Brittany Hankins, Karrie King, Julia Lancaster, Shelly Lancaster, Olivia Lewis, Casey Smith and Brianna Williams.
Ryan Williams served as best man.
Groomsmen were Travis Bartlett, Brett Bond, Taylor Jackson, Michael King, Drew McKnight, Brandon Sanders, Brian Sutton and Lane Ward.
Elana Wilson was flower girl.
Carter Overman was ringbearer.
Natalie James directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Stephanie Daughtry.
Miniature bride and groom were McKenzie Scott and Caleb Jernigan.
Julia Lancaster and Travis Bartlett were vocalists.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Goldsboro.
A rehearsal dinner was given by groom’s parents at Dunes Club in Atlantic Beach.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement shower given by the parents of the bride and groom last July at groom’s parent’s home; a Christmas shower given at the home of the bride by the family; a March 4 bridal shower at United in Christ Church given by the mothers of the bride and the groom, Judy Scott, Audrey King, Rochelle McCullen, Tammy Lewis, Dana Scott and Jane Hooks; a lingerie shower given by Heather Farmer, Ashley King and Olivia Lewis at Heather’s apartment in Raleigh March 10; a bachelor party in Mrytle Beach given by the groomsmen; a bachelorette weekend in Charleston, S.C., given by Julia Lancaster and Brittany Hankins; a miscellaneous shower given by co-workers and supervisors of the bride and the groom, Atlantic Eye Center and Sentry Insurance; a couples shower at the home of Julie Jackson and given by Julie Jackson, Jenny Lewis, Kathy Best, Holly Steed, Nancy McCall and Alice Royal March 31; and a bridesmaids’ luncheon held at Snappers in Morehead City April 20 given by Jane Lancaster, Linda Lancaster, Teresa King and Lori Farmer.
