Jackson-Lambert
Courtney Dannielle Jackson and James Royall Lambert Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 9, 2012, at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Mount Olive, with pastor Doug Bartlett officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Danny Gray and Meg Jernigan Jackson of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Arnold Lee and Dorothy Grantham Jackson of Mount Olive and Marvin Henry Jernigan and the late Dorothy Holloman Jernigan of Mount Olive.
She is a 2006 honor graduate of North Duplin High School and graduated magna cum laude from East Carolina University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders. She graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University in 2012 with a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology. She is employed as speech-language pathologist at Total Communication Inc.
The groom is the son of Dr. James Royall Lambert of Mount Olive and Mary Jo Bundy-Lambert of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late Marvin James and Hilda Puckett Lambert of Calypso and the late Elias James and Josephine Price Bundy of Mount Olive.
He is a 2003 honor graduate of Southern Wayne High School and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. He is employed as owner/operator of Duplin County Auto Sales Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a Pronovias strapless organza fit-and-flare gown. The full pleated skirt was adorned with flower details scattered throughout, and flowed into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a single layer fingertip-length veil with ivory fine edge trim.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, white hydrangeas and freesia, green buttons and hypericum berries. Stems were wrapped with turquoise ribbon, and adorned with an heirloom brooch from the bride’s maternal grandmother.
Danielle Keel of Mount Olive was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennings Clingan of Winston-Salem, sister of the groom, and Emily Kelly of Surf City, Elizabeth Taylor of Greenville and Hollie Williams of Fayetteville, friends of the bride.
James Lambert, father of the groom, and Jay Bundy, uncle of the groom, served as best men.
Groomsmen were Scott Clingan of Winston-Salem, brother-in-law of the groom, and Anthony Grady of Mount Olive, friend of the groom.
Hannah Lee of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Ushers were Bryce Ficken III of Dudley and James Vickory of Mount Olive, friends of the groom.
Ailee Smith of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Cody Smith of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Anne Letchworth directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Jessica Sloan of Garner and Janah Herring of Mount Olive, friends of the couple. Gavin Lee of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
Kimberly Smith of Mount Olive, cousin of the bride, presented a special reading.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bess Sawyer, organist; Brandi Worth, vocalist; and Matt Bartlett, vocalist and guitarist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Murphy Center of Mount Olive College. The reception was directed by Christa Davis, Robin Hall and Aileen Jernigan. Jay and Susie Bundy and Doug and Aileen Jernigan greeted guests. Rose Beavers and Nancy Underhill served the wedding cake. Tammy Keel served punch.
After a surprise honeymoon planned by the groom to St. John’s, Antigua, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Dec. 3 at the home of Lisa Kelly hosted by Ms. Kelly and Emily Kelly; a couples; around-the-house shower Feb. 18 at the home of Bryce Ficken III hosted by Mr. Ficken, Danielle Keel and Tammy Keel; a miscellaneous shower March 25 at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by Rose Beavers, Angie Gardner, Robin Hall, Gayle Kabes, Jennifer Lewis, Lisa Lewis, Sue Phillips, Angie Sanders, Nancy Underhill and Mamie Whitted; a miscellaneous shower March 31 at the home of Aileen Jernigan hosted by Mrs. Jernigan, Brianna Jernigan, Hannah Lee and Kimberly Smith; an engagement party April 21 at Southern Wayne Country Club hosted by the groom’s family and friends; a lingerie shower and bachelorette beach weekend May 18-20 at Topsail Island hosted by the maid of honor and bridesmaids; a bridesmaids’ luncheon June 2 at the home of Meg Jackson hosted by Mrs. Jackson, the bride and Tammy Keel, during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; and a luncheon for the wedding party at First Baptist Church June 9 hosted by Angie Sanders, Kelsea Walters and friends of the bride.
The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner June 8 at the Mad Boar Restaurant. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
