Mrs. Lassiter

Kayla Elizabeth Smith and Matthew Ryan Lassiter exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 26 at 4 p.m. at Jefferson United Methodist, with the Rev. Doug Johnson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth J. and Elizabeth L. Smith of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of James E. and Diane Smith of Goldsboro and Lanis S. Lockamy and the late W. Earl Lockamy of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Christopher and Joy L. Overman of Goldsboro and the grandson of Bryan and Glenda Overman of Goldsboro, John “Rock” Lassiter of Princeton and Jean Lassiter of Princeton.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Mrs. Beth L. Smith, mother of the bride, served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kasi Smith, sister of the bride, and Lauren Flowers, friend of the couple.

Christopher Overman, father of the groom, and John “Rock” Lassiter, grandfather of the groom, served as best men.

Groomsman was P.J. Flowers, friend of the couple.

A reception was held in fellowship hall at Jefferson United Methodist Church.

After a wedding trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple resides in Goldsboro.
