Lauren Lynn Wooten and Richard Bryan Wolfe exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 28, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Pikeville, with the Rev. David Hollowell officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Wesley and Deborah Jones Wooten of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Jean Wooten and the late Elton R. Wooten of Pikeville and Tempie Jones and the late J.D. Jones of Nahunta.

She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2004 and East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in special education 2009. She is employed as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Ricky and Marilyn Cox Wolfe of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Richard Floyd and Cora Mae Wolfe of Patetown and Ila Grey Cox and the late Clarence Cox of Pikeville.

He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1997 and Wayne Community College. He is employed at Air Gas.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a an ivory and champagne gown that included beaded lace and pleated tiers of tulle. The dress also featured a chapel train.

The one-tier fingertip-length mantilla veil was adorned with a pearl-embellished Alencon lace applique edge.

She carried a brooch bouquet of white peonies and white roses, and included brooches that belonged to her grandmothers, great-grandmothers and her aunt. The bouquet was wrapped with remnants of her mother’s wedding veil.

Devon Summerlin and Laura Raper served as matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Heather Smith, Edye Kornegay, Kaitlin Hester and Christy Smith.

Daniel Peele served as best man.

Groomsmen were Jason Wolfe, Justin Wolfe, Brad Busdieker, Travis Kirby and Jackson Wooten.

Taylor Tyndall was flower girl.

Jackie Hare and Robin Radford directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Jennifer Williamson and Karen Peele. Taylor Glover distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Lisa Herring, pianist, and Myra Brooks, vocalist.

A reception was held immediately after ceremony at the church.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Pikeville.

A rehearsal dinner was held by groom’s parents at Mount Carmel Church.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower Feb. 26 at Pleasant Grove Church given by family and friends of the bride; a miscellaneous shower March 4 at Mount Carmel Church given by family and friends of the bride; a gift card card and garden shower March 20 given by staff of Fremont STARS Elementary School; a miscellaneous shower given by the groom’s family April 1; a lingerie shower given by Alexis Spence and Mindy Lane April 6; and a bachelorette weekend given by friends of the bride in Beaufort the weekend of April 13.
