Howell - Pate
Crystal Dee Howell and Justin Thomas Pate exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 11, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at United In Christ Church, with Pastor Ira Williford officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Billy Dee and Judy Lancaster Howell of Patetown and the granddaughter of the late George Dewitt and Thelma Horne Howell of Patetown and Thelma Head Lancaster and the late Clifton Rudolph Lancaster of Pikeville.
She is a 2004 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a graduate of Wayne Community College for early childhood development and nursing assisting. She is employed as a certified nursing assistant at Goldsboro Pediatrics PA.
The groom is the son of Ronnie Thomas and Beverly Horne Pate of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Joseph C. and Ruby Forehand Pate of Pikeville, Rudolph Allen Horne and Barbara Jones Bushee of Pikeville.
He is a 2002 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High school. After graduating, he was self-employed as a mechanic at R&R Repairs, where he still works part-time. He is employed as a mechanic at Musgrave Equipment.
The bride was escorted by her daddy and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white strapless A-line gown with a train. The bodice was trimmed in lace and covered with silver sequins and beading.
Her headpiece was a simple headband lined with rhinestones.
The bride carried a bouquet of calla lilies, white roses and blue hydrangeas accented with black pearls.
Cindy Lee was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rhonda Daniels and Marsha Peele, sisters of the groom; Kristina Grimes, friend of the bride; and Crystal Marie Howell, cousin of the bride.
Ronnie Pate was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Mike Daniels and Daniel Peele, brothers-in-law of the groom; Jimmy Saunders, friend of the groom; and Ty Daniels, nephew of the groom.
Abby Lee, niece of the bride, and Mya Daniels and Payton Peele, nieces of the groom, were junior bridesmaids.
Ushers were Curtis Howell and Chad Howell, brothers of the bride, and Eric Lee, brother-in-law of the bride.
Alexus Howell, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride.
Aubrey Howell, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Brayden Peele, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
Stephanie Wallace directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Karen Saunders. Dustin Lee, Cheyenne Saunders and Kaleigh Saunders distributed programs.
Makayla Lane passed out bubbles.
Lowrise Howell made all of the flower arrangements.

A program of wedding music was provided by Pam Bedford and Josh Parnell, vocalists. Sound was provided by Mike and Catina Davis.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held. Finger foods were served and made by the couple’s families. Judy Ohara made cupcakes. Attendants were Faye Person, Lynn Sasser, Monica Sasser, Peggy Person, Geraldine Cox, Tammy Howell, Debbie Kennedy, Judy Ohara and Chris Fowler.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Pikeville.
The couple’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner. Jimmy Rollins barbecued a pig and chickens.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower Aug. 19 at the home of the bride hosted by friend Kristina Grimes; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the brides’s mother at United in Christ Church Sept. 4; a cookout Sept. 17 hosted by the bride’s sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Eric Lee, at their home in Rosewood; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the groom’s family Oct. 15 at Liberty Church in Goldsboro; a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach hosted by the bride’s friends, Steph-anie Wallace, Vanessa Crumpler and Brandy Strickland, and co-workers Sept. 31-Oct. 2; and a bachelor weekend in Raleigh Nov. 5 for the groom hosted by friend, Jimmy Saunders.
