Lauren Alexandria Holland of Wake Forest and Stephen Wayne Mitchell of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 1 at 11:30 a.m. at Meredith College’s Jones Chapel in Raleigh, with William Diver officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mark Holland of Princeton, Donna Gerald of Wake Forest and Kevin Gerald and the granddaughter of Margaret Holland, the late Norwood Holland and George McIntosh and Ruby Game McIntosh of Princeton.

The groom is the son of Jimmy Mitchell Jr. and Anita Mitchell of Princeton and the grandson of Marie Daughtry Fowler of Smithfield and Thurston Corbett and Ila Mae Corbett of Goldsboro.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a gown with a strapless neckline with an A-line silhouette. It featured a lace overlay and a chapel-length train. The dropped waistline had a satin sash with a crystal centered bow.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered chapel-length veil with hand-detailed lace appliqués adorning the bottom edge of the long tier.

The bride carried a round bridal bouquet of white hydrangeas, pink rosita vendela roses, mauve pink Esperance roses, white Eskimo roses and open white spray roses wrapped with a striped mauve pink ribbon with pearl beading down the front.

Dallas Nicole Holland was maid of honor.

Elizabeth Goodwin was the bridesmaid.

Scott Toler was the best man.

Groomsmen were Trent Poplin and Garrett Poplin.

Ushers were Albert Bruno and William Gerald.

Victoria Gerald and Casey Mitchell were flower girls.

Amanda Frystock directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Maggie Banks.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Pace, pianist and organist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Meredith College’s Belk Dining Hall.

Events held before the wedding included a couples shower at Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church in Princeton hosted by Rhonda Poplin and Joy Woodard, aunts of the bride.

Marie Fowler, grandmother of the groom, hosted a rehearsal dinner at 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh.
