DuBois - Jackson
GREENVILLE — Shannon Lynn Jackson and Travis Carroll DuBois exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Yankee Hall Plantation in Greenville, with Tim Turner officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Randy Lee and Lisa Bailey Jackson of Winterville and the granddaughter of Marion and Rae Wood of Wallace and the late Robert and Frances Bailey of Kinston.
She is a graduate from Arendell Parrott Academy and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of Phi Delta Chi. She attends the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
The groom is the son of Arnold Gaitan and Sharon Williams DuBois of Faison, the grandson of Myrtle Blackwell, the late George Garcia DuBois of Goldsboro, the late Carroll Stanley Williams of Mount Olive and Geraldine Williams Taylor of Faison and the stepgrandson of Donnell Frank Taylor of Faison.
The groom is a graduate of North Duplin High School and the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy in 2011. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was a member of Kappa Psi. He is employed as a a pharmacist at Walmart in Hillsborough.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Her gown was a one-piece strapless corset with a sweetheart neckline. It had embellished embroidery with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads and glass beads over the entire dress. It also had a caught-up cutaway skirt and a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was an encrusted tiara with an embellished flowing silk veil that flowed into the train.
The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, calla lilies and blue and white hydrangeas embellished with blue and white ribbon.
Heather Causey was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Samantha Barry, Holly Israel, Brook Lampron and Christy Sherrill, friends of the couple.
Donald Ray Oates Jr. was his brother’s best man.
Groomsmen were Matthew Braswell, Bradley Lloyd and Joshua Marquez, friends of the couple, and David Jackson, brother of the bride.
Barbara Ward directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Paula DuBois, sister of the groom.
A program of wedding music was provided by DJs Bill and Bill, and Michael Pittman, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception.
After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Chapel Hill. A longer wedding trip is planned for Florida at a later date.
Events held before the wedding included a floating shower July 9 at the home of Donna Allen hosted by Ms. Allen, Gerri Cox and Christy Oates; a shower at Christ Church hosted by friends and members of the bride’s church; and several other events hosted by family and friends.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 12 at Yankee Hall Plantation.
