Melissa Ryan Price of Goldsboro and Gerald “Wayne” Turner II of Goldsboro exchanged vows June 25 at 7 p.m. in a private double-ring beach ceremony in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, with Maria de la Cruz officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Danny Earl and Sharon Pelt Price of Fremont and the granddaughter of Freeman and Beverly Pelt of Fremont and David and Joan Price of Goldsboro.
She is a 1999 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College with a dental assistant certification and a 2010 graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is employed as a first-grade teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary School.
The groom is the son of Lee Scott and Mary Katherine Grigg Turner of Valrico, Fla., and the granddaughter of the late David and Dura Bell Grigg of Morganton and Beth Turner and the late Gerald Turner of Mount Pleasant, Texas.
He is a 1997 graduate of Nido de Aguilas High School, a 1992 graduate of the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a 1998 graduate of Air Force pilot training school. He is serving as a pilot in the United States Air Force Reserves.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.
She wore a white slimline gown with a layer of charmeuse satin with a lace overlay. It had a sculpted neckline accented with Swarovski crystals and a keyhole back.
The bride carried white roses and stargazer lilies.
A reception was held July 16 at The Flying Shamrock Irish Pub and Restaurant.
After their wedding trip to the Mayan Rivera, Mexico, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a couple’s shower May 7 at the home of Betsy Hulse hosted by Ms. Hulse and a Pampered Chef shower May 21 at the home of Susan Keel hosted by friends.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Cocotal Restaurant at El Dorado Royale Resort.
