Shaffer - Provenzano
Nicole Christine Provenzano of Goldsboro and Richard Duane Shaffer Jr. of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 27 at 6 p.m. at Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa in Clymer, N.Y., with the Rev. Barbara Brown officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph Louis and Christa Anne Stoll Provenzano of Lockport, N.Y., and the granddaughter of Betty Stoll and the late Robert W. Stoll of Lockport.
She is a 2002 graduate of Lockport High School, a 2006 and 2008 graduate of Niagara University in New York with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2006 from Niagara University and a master’s degree in literacy instruction. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Eastern Wayne Elementary.
The groom is the son of Patricia Louise Naeger Shaffer of Latrobe, Pa., and the late Richard Duane Shaffer Sr.
He is a 1994 graduate of Ligioner Valley High School in Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Air Force. He is a civil service employee and an Air Reserve technician.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white taffeta pick-up gown with a beaded metallic lace bodice, an inverted V-empire and a lace up back.
Her headpiece was a silver tiara with rhinestone scroll detail, crystals and pearls. It had a two-tiered elbow veil with a scalloped beaded edge.
Samantha Provenzano was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Amanda Gregory, friend of the bride; Kristina Doyle, aunt of the bride; and Robin Johnson and Vickie Jellison, sisters of the groom.
Gene Burkholder was his friend’s best man.
Groomsmen were Dan Twarozynski, friend of the groom; Adam Thomas, cousin of the bride; and Shawn Johnson and Anthony Jellison, brothers-in-law of the groom.
Breigh Shaffer was flower girl.
Kim Kantola directed the wedding. Chas Perry and Ryan Thomas distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was providedby Miles Patterson, sound technician.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in The Retreat lodge at Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa.
After their wedding trip to Emerald Isle, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower March 11 at the home of Teri Holmes hosted by Ms. Holmes, aunt of the bride, and the bride’s mother and sister; a bachelorette shower March 12 hosted by the bride’s sister; and a shower April 14 at Eastern Wayne Elementary hosted by Amanda Gregory and Stephanie Webber, friends of the bride.
The bride’s parents held a rehearsal dinner in the Nordstrom Room at Peek’n Peak Resort and Spa.
