Rouse - Jackson
Emily Nicole Jackson and Jordan Wayne Rouse exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 21 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, with Dr. Dennis R. Atwood officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Curtis Ray and Phyllis Ann Jackson of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Isabelle Jackson of Newton Grove and James Woodard and Edna Pearl Crumpler of Mount Olive.
She is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School in Dudley and a 2006 graduate of Sampson Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Gordon Wayne and Deborah Ann Rouse of LaGrange and the grandson of Evelyne Harper Rouse, the late Gordon “Monk” Rouse, Shirley Wade Killette and the late Wayne Killette of LaGrange.
He is a 2000 graduate of North Lenoir High School and a 2002 graduate of Lenior Community College with an associate degree in biology. He is owner and operator of Spare Change Music Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by parents.
She chose a formal gown of white chiffon over satin with a ruched bodice embellished with rhinestones and Swarovski crystals. The one-shoulder strap was a braided design of beads, sequins, rhinestones and crystals that flowed down the lace-up corset back. The A-line skirt featured an asymmetrical drape embellished with rhinestones and Swarovski crystals leading to the semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a single-tiered veil of silk illusion trimmed with rhinestones.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of brandy cherry, yellow and orange roses.
Ashley Wiggins Brock was her friend’s matron of honor, while Kimberly Davis Joyner, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tyann Miller Darden and Lara Bell Johnson, friends of the bride, and Mindy Lauren Rouse, sister of the groom.
Gordon Wayne Rouse, father of the groom, and Jackson Cole Rouse, son of the groom, were the best men.
Groomsmen were Kevin Tyler Jackson, brother of the bride; James Carey Rouse, brother-in-law of the groom; and Joseph Arnold Price Jr. and Justin Garrett Hill, cousins of the groom.
Ushers were Bartley Kyle Warren and Nicholas Lee Swinson, friends of the couple.
Ava Lynn Morris, was flower girl.
Honorary bridesmaids were Amber LaMae Hardy, friend of the bride, and Kayla Joy Hill, cousin of the bride.
Brenda Pittard Davis directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Chelsea Michelle Phillips, friend of the bride. Kathryn Olivia Swinson, friend of the bride, distributed the programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bess Edwards Sawyer, pianist; Laura Rachel Barwick Rouse, vocalist; and Paige Vickory Barwick, violinist
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Lane Tree Golf Course. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arnold Price, uncle and aunt of the groom, greeted guests. Joy Killette Hill, aunt of the groom, cut the wedding cake.
After their wedding trip to the western Caribbean, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement party Jan. 7 at Southern Wayne Country Club hosted by friends and family of the couple; a bachelor party March 6 through 9 in New Orleans, La., hosted by friends of the groom; a bachelorette weekend March 25 through 27 in Surf City hosted by the bridesmaids; a miscellaneous shower April 23 hosted by Carolyn Withers and Evelyn Courchene; a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 30 at Duplin Winery hosted by family; a bridal shower May 5 hosted by co-workers of the bride at Wayne Memorial Hospital; and a gift card shower hosted by Bethel United Methodist Church.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Southern Wayne Country Club.
