Holskey-Kepley
Melissa Ann Kepley of Goldsboro and John Ross Holskey of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at Church on the Rock Training Ministry, with pastor Joy Howell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Kepley of Statesville and Nancy Wallick Stephens of Apex and the granddaughter of Wade Kepley and the late Jo Kepley of Salisbury and Herbert Wallick and the late Bobbie Wallick of Beaufort.
She graduated from Statesville High School in 2003 and Catawba College in 2007. She is employed with Wayne County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of Julie Holskey of Pikeville and John J. of Quaker City, Ohio, the grandson of the late Mabel Wyatt Holskey and Blaine Holskey of Zanesville, Ohio, the late Leslie Ross Fogle of Akron, Ohio, and Patricia Dormish of Hartsville, S.C., and the great-grandson of the late Harriet Dormish of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2005. He is employed at Waynesboro Family Clinic.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her mother.
She wore a formal gown of white taffeta with a strapless neckline and a beaded sash with pick-up detail on the skirt and a sweep train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered scallop-edged fingertip-length veil with metallic embroidery and floral beading.
The bride carried a bouquet of hand-tied fall flowers.
Jennifer Kepley of Statesville was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Laura Chavous of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; Courtney Johnson of Goldsboro, friend of the couple; and Kylie Stephens of Cary, stepsister of the bride.
Jonathan Chavous of Goldsboro was his brother-in-law’s best man.
Groomsmen were Shane Howell of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, and Don Neal of Goldsboro, friend of the groom.
Hannah Chavous and Sophie Chavous of Goldsboro, nieces of the groom, were flower girls.
Cookie Chavous of Goldsboro, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Gabrielle Morales. Nikki Auman and Anna Strickland distributed programs.
Special helpers were Jessica Best, Teresa Best, Amy Carey, Debbie Gross, Johanna Hughes, Sherry Hunt, Trey Johnson, Heather Lewis, Kelli Narron, Linda Rice, Kerri Shipp, Ashton Tygart and Stormie Holish.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church.
After their wedding trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a couples’ shower Oct. 30 at Church on the Rock hosted by the groom’s mother and ladies of the church and a bridal shower luncheon Nov. 13 hosted by the bride’s mother.
The groom’s mother and ladies of Church on the Rock hosted a thanksgiving feast rehearsal dinner Nov. 6 at the church.
