Perkins - Smith
Lashaundon Kateric Smith and Kwan Domaine Perkins of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at Heritage Community Center at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, with apostle Walter L. Barbour officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Randy Marion Smith and Juan Andre’ Johnson of Goldsboro and Patricia Ann Williams of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Marcellus Johnson, Vanella Johnson, the late Willie Lee Rhodes and Hattie Delores Middleton Rhodes of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Lakes High School in Tacoma, Wash., North Carolina Wesleyan College in 2004 with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice and Central Michigan University in 2007 with a master’s degree in administration. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in organizational management. She is employed as a teaching and learning coach for Wayne County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of the late Kary Perkins of Dudley and Katheryn Perkins of Mount Olive and the grandson of Isabel Perkins and the late Vance Perkins of Dudley, the late Nathaniel Smith of Warsaw and Evelena Vann of Mount Olive.
He attended Southern Wayne High school and graduated from Wayne Community College. He is employed as a sanitation technician at Mt. Olive Pickle Co.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory strapless satin gown with crystal and diamond beading on the front and back with a chapel-length train with crystal and diamond accents.
The bride carried ivory silk roses.
Kamarshia Bartee, Stacy Whitney and Loshonda Coley were matrons of honor, while Tonya Barbour was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Joi Hood, Trenecia Vaughn, Tammy Perkins, Cquanica Burden and Passion Smith, daughter of the bride.
Anthony Rhodes, uncle of the bride, was the best man.
Groomsmen were Michael Williamson, Walter Belmar, Terry Davis, Marcus Garner, Larry Carlton and Travis Council.
Ushers were Carlton Stevens and Brendan Pemberton
Junior groomsmen were Desmond Vaughn, son of the bride, and Marcus and Malik Williams and Jaden Cooper, brothers of the bride.
Ariana Sutton, sister of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Kassiah Johnson was flower girl. Jordan Cooper was ringbearer.
Trammonnieo Cooper directed the wedding. Presiding at the guest register was Terrika Rhodes. Kiara Manley and Shakia Kellum distributed the programs.
Hostesses were Ashli Manley and Princess Johnson.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Hill, pianist; Victoria Ruffin and Jermaine Shepard, vocalists; and Charles “C-Rai” Raiford, disc jockey.
Following ceremony, a reception was held in the ballroom of Heritage Community Center.
After their wedding trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included an engagement shower at the YMCA hosted by Loshonda Allen, cousin of the groom; a bridal shower at Illiano’s hosted by Kamarshia Bartee, friend of the bride, and Beverly Kee; a lingerie shower in Raleigh hosted by Stacy Whitney, cousin of the bride; a bridal shower at Village on the Green Steakhouse hosted by Tonya Barbour, friend of the bride; and a dinner hosted by men of Victory Faith Center.
The bride’s father hosted a rehearsal dinner at home.
