Barwick - Heath
Vanessa Cotton Heath of Mount Olive and Nathaniel Franklin Barwick Jr. of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 23 at 2 p.m. at North East Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating.
The bride is the daughter of George Marvin “Buck” Cotton Jr. of Calypso and Theresa Herring Sasser of Warsaw, the stepdaughter of Robert Sasser and the granddaughter of George Marvin Cotton and Zadie Cotton of Calypso, Shelby Jean Herring and the late Jimmy Eugene Herring of Mount Olive and Mildred Herring of LaGrange.
She graduated from Southern Wayne High School. She is employed as an inventory warehouse clerk at Mt. Olive Pickle Co.
The groom is the son of Nathaniel Franklin Barwick and Marion Shivar Barwick of Mount Olive and the grandson of the late John Harvey and Hattie Holloman Barwick of Mount Olive and the late Willie Tapp and Doris Price Shivar of Seven Springs.
He graduated from Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as a farm manager at B.W. Barwick’s Farms LLC.
The bride was escorted by Jordan Heath and given in marriage by Robert Sasser.
Sharon Moody served was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Angie Pfennig and Ashley Heath, daughter of the bride.
N. Franklin Barwick was best man.
Ushers were Matthew Sasser, Jordan Heath, Nathan Barwick, Cole Barwick and Hunter Barwick.
Carissa Best was flower girl. Will Albert and Davis Albert were ringbearers.
Sue Sutton, Jill Parks and Debra Barwick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Tyler Barwick.
Special helpers were Mary Dell and Butch Lewis, Duane and Jennifer Lewis, Shelton and Lisa Lewis, Leslie Barwick, Bennie and Valerie Barwick, Eva Barwick, Chris and Joyce Ann Barwick and Tony and Crystal Jones.
A program of wedding music was provided by Kaye Massey, pianist, and Laura Rachael Barwick Rouse, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, Mildred Herring Miller, grandmother of the bride, hosted a reception. Beth Holland and Ashlyn Pridgen were directors.
After their wedding trip to Hollyridge, the couple will reside in Mount Olive.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower at the home of the bride’s mother hosted by the bride’s mother and a bridal shower at the Lighthouse hosted by co-workers at Mt. Olive Pickle Co.
