Coley - Thompson
Tharon Marie Thompson and Lonnie Coley III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m. at First Assembly Of God, with pastor Carlton Barnes officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Jesse Lee Artis and Helen Marie Thompson of Goldsboro, the granddaughter of the late James and Almareada Fields, the late Walter Artis and Geneva Artis of Goldsboro and the great-granddaughter of Bessie Thompson, the late James Thompson and Helen Hicks of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Goldsboro High School and currently attends Lenoir Community College for a nursing degree. She is employed as a health care technician at Cherry Hospital.
The groom is the son of Lonnie Coley Jr. and Vivian Darden Coley of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Willie J. and Mittie Coley Darden, the late Lonnie Coley and Bertha Edward Coley of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and is pursuing a degree in electronics. He is a self-employed contractor.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless satin gown re-embroidered with crystal beading, pearls and sequins with a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil embellished with crystal beading, pearls and sequins attached to a tiara.
The bride carried roses with mermaid and chocolate ribbons and pearl beading.
Lakeisha Leftwich was her friend's matron of honor, while Jamequia Thompson, daughter of the bride, and Seimeco Thompson, sister of the bride, were maids of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kawana Smith, Evonne Harris, Natashia Artis, Crystal Artis, Shakia Bradshaw, Latissa Thompson and Willa Smith.
Eric Williams, Corey Jordan and Derrick Young were best men.
Groomsmen were Danielle Summers, Kenneth Harris, Tory Thompson, Jesse Artis Jr., Brandon Burton, Myelle Thompson, Faronta Thompson and Tracy Coley.
Ushers were Victor Artis and Andre McIntyre.
Shauntya Tune, daughter of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Maliyah Cox, niece of the groom, and Janiya Thompson, niece of the bride, were flower girls. Trayvion Coley, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.
Hostesses were Shaveda Thompson and Stephanie Royal.
Beverly Banks directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Leondria Faison. Mignon Cobb distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Wayne Woodard, pianist; Antownette Best, vocalist; and Wayne Woodard, organist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rebuilding Broken Places. Sherquandar Fields, Angela Merritt, Synthia Bryant, Vivian Darden, Kusloshail Thompson, Rashelia Smith, evangelist Sandra Barnes, Victoria Artis and Dametris Darden were servers.
After their wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Va., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower Aug. 7 hosted by the groom's mother; a bridal shower Aug. 21 hosted by Lakeisha Leftwich, Jamequia Thompson, Siemeco Thompson and the bride's mother; a bachelor party Aug. 14 in Atlanta hosted by the groomsmen; and a bachelorette party Sept. 3 at Jameson Inn hosted by the bridesmaids.
The bride's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner Sept. 3 at her home.
