Whitted - Lawrence
Amber Dawn Lawrence and Ormond Graham Whitted of Calypso exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with Johnny Sasser officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Benjamin Martin and Emily Sue Lawrence of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Merolin Oliver and Shirley Walker Lawrence of Goldsboro and the late Troy Franklin and Emma Lee Trotter of Robbins.
She is a 2007 graduate of Spring Creek High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College and attends Mount Olive College, where she is pursuing a degree in birth-kindergarten teaching.
The groom is the son of Neville Ormond Whitted Jr. and Lori Ann Whitted of Mount Olive and the grandson of Neville Ormond Whitted Sr. and Peggy Wells Whitted of Calypso and Herman Ray and JoAnn Brogden Bishop of Mount Olive.
He is a 2008 graduate of North Duplin High School. He is employed as a merchandiser at RA Jeffreys Distributing Co.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin gown with an A-line silhouette and lace-up back, an off-the-shoulder neckline and a side-draped bodice.
Her headpiece was a crystal and ivory rose tiara with a shoulder-length two-tiered veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of red and ivory roses.
Genna Chriscoe was her sister’s matron of honor.
Neville Ormond Whitted Jr. was his son’s best man.
Ushers were Graham Price and Jeremy Thompson.
Lorelei Mezza and Mazzie Williams were flower girls.
Jonathan Pollock directed the wedding. Ashley Turnage distributed programs.
Lawrence Avery Whitted, son of the couple, was a special helper.
A program of wedding music was provided by George Moore, the sound system technician.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall. Sharon Trotter served the wedding cake. Brenda Howett poured punch.
After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a couple’s shower/cookout Aug. 27 hosted by the bride’s aunts and grandmother.
The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
