Threatt - Alexander
Tiffany Van Alexander of Raleigh and Louis Dominick Threatt of Durham exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church, with the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Daniel Alexander of Salisbury and Elaine Alexander of Goldsboro.
She is a graduate of Goldsboro High School, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and the University of Phoenix with a master’s degree in business administration. She is employed as an MQA specialist at APP Pharmaceutical and is an instructor at Apex School of Theology.
The groom is the son of Maurice Threatt of Atlanta, Ga., and Valerie Laney of Rantoul, Ill., and the grandson of Alvin Laney II of Rantoul.
He graduated from Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Ga., and North Central University with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics with a math minor and attends Duke University pursuing a Masters of Divinity degree. He served in the United States Air Force at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. He is employed as an associate minister at Greenleaf Christian Church.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an A-line white chiffon satin one-shoulder gown accented with an angel flying satin fabric and diamond embellishments with a floor-length train.
Her headpiece was a tiara.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of blue hydrangeas with sprouting white large calla lilies cut short with peaks of Italian muscus along with folded tie leaves.
Angela Alexander and LaShon Worrells were matrons of honor, while Cheritta Alexander was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Zandra Hearn, Chandra Shackleford, LaRessa Threatt and LaShawna Threatt.
Melvin Robinson and Maurice Threatt were best man.
Groomsmen were Cecil Chapman, Corey Caldwell, Cedric Thomas II and Larry umberbatch.
Ushers were Latonya Atkinson and Angelia Mitchell.
Laniza Alexander and Tamia Jones were junior bridesmaids.
Zayla Brinson was flower girl. Keonte Henry was ringbearer.
Keshonte Henry was town crier.
Demetrius Faison directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Teneia Wooten. Regina Dawkins and Cyla Laney distributed programs and were hostesses.
A program of wedding music was provided by Ruby Prescott, violinist, and Blue Sand Music cellist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After their wedding trip to Hollywood, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., the couple will reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower June 26 at Country Inn and Suites hosted by the bridesmaids; a bridal excursion July 1-5 in New Orleans, La., hosted by Zandra Hearn and Angelia Mitchell; and a bachelorette weekend July 30-Aug. 2 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by Zandra Hearn and Chandra Shackleford.
Bobby Jones hosted a rehearsal dinner at Greenleaf Christian Church’s reception hall.
