Lanaville-Manning
SNOW HILL — Sharon Lee Manning and Joshua Mose Lanaville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 24 at 3 p.m. at Calvary Memorial United Methodist Church, with Edward L. Thornton
officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ronnie and Dale Manning of Snow Hill and the granddaughter of Harrell and Nannie Mae Manning, Nannie Mae Barrow and the late James Barrow of Snow Hill.
She is a 1999 graduate of Greene Central High School and a 2002 graduate of Lenoir Community College with an Associate in Applied Science degree in office systems technology. She is employed as an administrative assistant at Crop Production Services.
The groom is the son of David Lanaville and Jewell “Sally” Capps of Goldsboro, the stepson of John Capps, the grandson of Mose and Carol Lanaville, Ura “Buddy” Howard and the late Ethel Baker of Goldsboro and the stepgrandson of Lois Capps.
He is a 2002 graduate of Wayne Community College. He is employed as an automotive technician at Jennings Transmission.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory a-lined silhouette. The bodice had scalloped lace edging with floral hints of handbeaded work. The strapless gown opened cape-style in the front and cinched at the waist at the natural line. The champagne skirt was scalloped and lacy and flowed into a chapel train. She also wore diamond-accented champagne dropped earrings, necklace. Attached to the inside hem of her dress was her father’s blue high school
tie tack.
Her headpiece was an ivory single-tiered elbow-length floral lace and beaded edged-veil.
The bride carried a bouquet with exposed stems wrapped in white satin ribbon attached with pearl pins and had yellow calla lilies, white stephanotis, deep pink alstromera, white lilies, white iris and rustic greenery.
Kimberly Hughes of Snow Hill was her friend’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Julie Harper and Dawn McCoy of Snow Hill, cousins of the bride; Jewell Lanaville of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; and Courtney Hill of Snow Hill, friend of the bride.
David Lanaville was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brian Glisson of Kill Devil Hills, Travis Taylor of LaGrange and Brandon Creech of White Lake,friends of the groom, and Anthony Smith of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom.
Laney Davis of Greensboro, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Dallas Howard of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.
Jean Ham of Belhaven, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Scott and Stacey Ham of Hersey, Pa., cousins of the bride. Angie Davis of Greensboro, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Larry Head, vocalist, and George Mewborn III,
organist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents, family and friend hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a luau dinner Sept. 19 at the home of Julie Harper hosted by Angie Davis, Ms. Harper and Dawn McCoy; a gift card/hunting Feb. 6 at the home of Ricky and Kim Hughes and Courtney Hill hosted by the Hughes and Ms. Hill; a recipe and ingredient shower Feb. 21 at the home of the bride hosted by Julie Harper; a miscellaneous shower March 14 at the home of the bride hosted by friends and family of the bride; a monogram shower March 21 at the Jackson home in Deep Run hosted by Suzanne Jackson and JoAnn Tyndall; an engagement dinner March 27 at Harrell’s Chapel Church in Snow Hill hosted by the bride’s parents, family and friends; a miscellaneous shower April 11 hosted by the groom’s mother and sister at the home groom's mother; a bridal luncheon and lingerie shower April 17 at Our Picnic Basket in Kinston hosted by Kim Hughes, Linda Rouse, Nancy Radford and Carolyn Bright; a girls’ pampered affair and dinner April 22 at Chili’s in Wilson hosted by Jean Ham, Elaine Davis, Stacey Ham, Angie Davis, Tracy Thomas and Heather Davis; and a girls’ gala April 24 at Headquarters Salon in Kinston hosted by the bride’s mother and Shannan Harrison.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Steak Barn.
