Talton - Rouse
Shannon Renee Rouse and Michael Amoroso Talton of Jacksonville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 21 at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Goldsboro, with Dr. Glenn Phillips Jr. officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Lee and Tiffany Goss Rouse of Goldsboro and Rhonda Whitt of Fayetteville and the granddaughter of Mary Ann Shingleton Matthews of Roseboro, the late Bobby Lee Rouse of Snow Hill, Donald Shelor of Greensboro and Debra Naylor of Hampstead.
She is a 2009 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
The groom is the son of Jeffery Scott and Mildred Amoroso Talton of Goldsboro and the grandson of Vernon Cooper and Julia Phillips Talton of Goldsboro and Erlinda Dilla Amoroso and the late Carlos Amoroso of the Philippines.
He is a 2007 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. He is serving in the United States Marine Corps as a lance corporal stationed in Jacksonville.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore a white gown with a ruched strapless bodice and ballgown skirt with tiers of organza. It had a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a fingertip veil with a tiara embellished with seed pearls.
The bride carried blue tipped hydrangeas and white roses.
Kelly Gregorcyk was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Talton and Joann Talton, sisters of the groom.
Sean Cowick was the best man.
Groomsmen were Johnny Loveday and Mark Loveday, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Joshua Shepard and Nicholas Petro.
Madison King, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Ryan Lee Rouse, brother of the bride, was the ringbearer.
Melanie E. Harper directed the wedding.
A program of wedding music was provided by Carol Grey, pianist and organist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church’s Elsie R. Hooks fellowship hall.
After their wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, and the Florida Keys, the couple will reside in Jacksonville.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower April 11 in Roseboro hosted by the bride’s family and a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 14 at Murphey’s Place hosted by Julia Talton and Julie Stone.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Torreros Mexican restaurant.
