Godley - Williford
GODWIN — Carlin Marie Williford of Raleigh and David Loyd Godley of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 22 at 6 p.m. at Jackson Farm, with Dr. Edward Gunter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bobby Ray and Wanda Brown Williford of Fayetteville and the granddaughter of Leona Brown Owen, the late William Morris Brown, Addie Parnell Williford and the late M. A. Williford of Fayetteville.
She is a graduate of The Fayetteville Academy and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. She is employed by Lifetouch National School Studios of Raleigh in guest services.
The groom is the son of Charlie Loyd Godley Jr. and Anne Davenport Godley of Goldsboro, formerly of Clinton, and the grandson of Berma Morris Davenport and the late Russell Emmett Davenport Sr. of Fayetteville and the late Charlie Loyd Godley Sr. and Lena Bland Godley of Aurora.
He is a graduate of Clinton High School and North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture business management . He is employed as project manager at EBX in Raleigh.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory with silver and crystal accents gown. It was a strapless sheath with a sweetheart neckline and a chapel-length train.
Her tiara was silver with crystals with an elbow-length ivory veil with ivory satin cording.
Lindsay Williford Hall was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kimberly Alexander of Raleigh; Jacqueline Allison, Cara Allison Spencer, Dr. Molly Smith and Victoria Manis Stout of Fayetteville; Candice Trogdon of Greensboro and Sara Yerkes of Laconia, N.H.
Charlie Loyd Godley Jr., was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Boyette of Wilmington; Jeremy Hall of Fayetteville; Seth Hansen of Durham; and Bo Heath, Josh Humphrey and Dane Lewis of Raleigh.
Anna Morris Godley, sister of the groom, was the honorary bridesmaid.
Riley Rae Hall, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Jan Mann of Godwin directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Georganne Underwood Carlton of Clinton.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mark Pazzella of Five Star Entertainment of Fayetteville and soloist Elizabeth Ingram of Raleigh.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Jackson Farm.
After their wedding trip to the Maya Riveria in Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
Events held before the wedding included an ornament shower in Fayetteville hosted by Lindsay Williford Hall, Carlye Pleasant, Wanda Williford and Tyna Wallen-Murray; a couple’s shower in Fayetteville hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Manis and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stout; an engagement party in Clinton at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson hosted by friends of the groom; a bridal luncheon at the Hilltop House in Fayetteville hosted by Jan Smith; and a departure breakfast hosted by Maggie Beth Arruda, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Davenport Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Kincaid and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Liberty.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Chris’ Steakhouse in Fayetteville.
