Prieto - Dawson
WALNUT CREEK — Holly Patricia Dawson of Goldsboro and Capt. Octavio Prieto of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a lakeside double-ring ceremony May 8 at
6:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clift McCall, with Lee Mills officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Roger Coleman Dawson Jr. and Mrs. Billy Wayne Overton of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Frances Newsome Dawson and Albert James and Patricia Wiley Hamm of Goldsboro and the late Roger Coleman Dawson.
She is a 2006 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and a 2008 graduate of Johnston Community College. She is employed as a senior stylist at Jeffrey Scott Salon.
The groom is the son of Octavio Fidel and Leticia Aida Sanchez de Prieto of Ensenada, Mexico, and the grandson of Theresa Beltran de Prieto and the late Aida Santoscoy Godinez of Ensenada, the late Jose Prieto of Vicedo Lugo, Spain, and Mario Sanchez of Mexico D.F.
He is a 1997 graduate of Colegio Fray Junipero Serra, a 2004 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and a 2005 graduate of Air Force Pilot Training School. He is serving as a pilot in the United States Air Force.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless white taffeta gown. The sweetheart neckline was enhanced with beads and crystals. The bodice and waistline featured ruching that continued to the back of the gown and flowed into a sweep train. The bride also wore a pearl necklace that had belonged to her maternal grandmother, Patricia Wiley Hamm.
The bride carried a handtied clutch bouquet of purple lizianthiums, green roses, purple stock, green hypernicum berries, coral calla lilies and hot pink Gerber daises.
Blaire Floars Sloan was the matron of honor.
Enrique Prieto was the best man.
Tammy Hamm Floars directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Bradley James Floars and Skyler Casey Parks.
A program of wedding music was provided by Tommy King.
Following ceremony, G. Scott Hamm and James T.H. Deaver hosted a reception. Cake servers were Loi Salvo Hamm, Vonda Dawson Earp and Pam Dawson Howard.
The couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a Something-You-Cant-Live-Without shower April 22 hosted by Amber Sherman at her home; a bridal shower April 24 at the home of Tammy Hamm Floars hosted by Ms. Floars, Patricia Wiley Hamm, Loi Salvo Hamm and Casey Rose Floars at the home of Tammy Hamm Floars; a bridal shower April 25 at the home of Frances Newsome Dawson hosted by Ms. Dawson, Vonda Dawson Earp and Pam Dawson Howard; and a bridal luncheon May 8 at Lane Tree Golf Club hosted by Carolyn Wiley Hardison.
