Miller - Averill
GRANTHAM — Ashleigh Faith Averill and Fred Howard Miller III exchanged vows May 8 at noon at the home of the groom’s parents, with the Rev. John Edwards officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Nancy Averill of Grantham and the granddaughter of Shirley Mason and the late John Averill Sr. of Holly Ridge and the late Charles “Red” and Janie Young of Grantham.
She is a 2009 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and attended Wayne Community College for a certificate in pharmacy tech.
The groom is the son of Fred Jr. and Debra Miller of Grantham and the grandson of Iris Miller of New Hanover, the late Fred H. Miller Sr., Shirley Edwards of Grantham and the late George Edwards.
He is a 2003 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed with Harris Steel Erectors.
The bride was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents.
She wore a chiffon A-line gown with a split-front skirt, a satin cuff neckline and an empire waist with center front beaded appliqué. It had a sweep train.
Her headpiece was a single-tiered veil.
The bride carried a bouquet of pink roses and white hydrangeas.
Megan Averill of Grantham was her sister’s maid of honor.
Cameron Miller of Grantham was his father’s best man.
Fantasy Raynor, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Presiding at the register was Wendy Lane, cousin of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the couple’s parents hosted a pig picking reception at the home of the groom’s parents.
After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Grantham.
