Boothman - Sasser
Leslie Brooke Sasser of Pikeville and Michael Boothman of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 9 at Lane Tree Golf Club and Convention Center, with the Rev. William Cotton officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Larry Gray and Jeanette Howell Sasser of Pikeville and the granddaughter of the late Lloyd C. and Doris Howell of Fremont and the late Jasper E. and Kathleen Sasser of Pikeville.
She is a 2005 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and a 2009 magna cum laude graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in elementary education and a minor in reading. She is employed with Wayne County Public Schools as a first-grade teacher at Carver Heights Elementary.
The groom is the son of Edward H. and Pi Hwa Boothman of Naples, Fla., and the grandson of the late Han Chou Chien and Jian Mei Chien of Taiwan and the late Edward N. and Helen Boothman of Michigan.
He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in accounting. He is employed as the director of tennis at Walnut Creek Country Club.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a sweetheart neckline strapless white satin gown with a beaded bodice and a mermaid skirted train.
Her headpiece was a chapel-length veil with a crystal tiara.
The bride carried a semi-cascade bouquet of lavender roses, lavender stock, pink lisianthus, white and lavender caspia, blush miniature Calla lilies, white spray roses and mixed greenery.
Sheree´ Millard and Stacie Fail were their sister’s matrons of honor.
Daniel Asper was his friend’s best man.
Scott Outwater, friend of the groom, was the groomsman.
Shawn Millard and Timothy Fail, brothers-in-law of the bride, were ushers.
McKenzie Sloane Millard, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Joyce Cotton, friend of the bride’s family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Stephanie Sauls, college roommate of the bride. Kalina and Lorinda Boothman, sisters of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Pam Bedford, vocalist, and Steven Letchworth, musician.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s family hosted a dinner reception at the club. Harry and Olga Sasser, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted the couple’s guests.
After their wedding trip to the coast, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 9 at Goldsboro Country Club hosted by the bride’s mother; a night out with the groom April 7 in Chapel Hill; a dinner April 3 in Goldsboro hosted by sisters of the bride; and a shower March 28 at Pikes Cross Roads Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by ladies of the church.
A rehearsal dinner was held April 8 at Lane Tree Golf and Convention Center.
