Belongie-Harris
Cheryl Renee’ Harris of Oxford and John Hugh Belongie of Oxford exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 27 at 3 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Williams officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Harvey Raymond Harris Jr. and Linda Gupton Clark of Henderson and the granddaughter of the late Harvey Raymond Harris Sr., Mary Collins Harris and the late Jack and Willie Green Gupton of Henderson.
She attended Vance Senior High School and graduated from Vance Granville Community College’s nursing program. She attends Excelsior College. She is employed as an emergency room staff nurse at Maria Parham Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Shelby Bass Belongie and the late Alfred Frederick Belongie of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Alfred Frederick Belongie Sr., Teresa Belongie, the late John Benjamin and Mable Minchew Bass of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College. He is employed as a patrol sergeant with Henderson Police Department.
The bride was given in marriage by her sons, Richard Thomas Lovings and Bradley DeWayne Capps Jr.
She wore a full-length white gown with a three-foot train, a beaded bodice and straps.
The bride carried a bouquet of red roses accented with six white rose buds symbolizing the two families joining together.
Bridesmaids were Samantha Lee Belongie and Shelby Alexandrea Belongie, daughters of the groom.
Ushers were Richard Thomas Lovings and Bradley DeWayne Capps Jr., sons of the bride.
Aylivia Madison Lovings, granddaughter of the bride, was flower girl.
Following the ceremony, the couple’s families hosted a reception. A three-tiered white wedding cake dressed with white roses was served.
After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Oxford.
