PINK HILL — Jennifer Ann Ballance of Pink Hill and Jason Dean Baker exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 7 at 4:30 p.m. at Pink Hill United Methodist Church, with Linda Grider officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry Ballance of Goldsboro and Cindy Taylor of LaGrange and the granddaughter of Estelle Ballance and the late Lack Ballance of Goldsboro and Esther Sasser and the late Dewey Dudley of Princeton.

She is a 2003 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2007 graduate of Lenoir Community College with an associate degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

The groom is the son of Joe and Charlotte Baker of Pink Hill and the grandson of Carl Dean Baker and Gladys Casper of Pink Hill, the late Reginald and Louis Quinn of Potters Hill, Billy Casper and Lilly Baker.

He is a 2001 graduate of East Duplin High School and a 2003 graduate of James Sprunt Community College. He is employed in construction at Bakers Construction Co.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white taffeta pickup gown with a beaded and lace bodice, an inverted v-empire and a lace up back with a sweep train.

Her headpiece was an elbow-length veil with a scalloped pencil edge with pearls and crystals.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of Virginia roses with a seeded eucalyptus collar.

Sarah Collins was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amanda Overton, Kathy Hill and Brandy Jones, friends of the bride.

Josh Baker, brother of the groom, was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Michael Gillette and Denny Burd, friends of the groom, and Joe Baker, father of the groom.

Ushers were Cole and Cale Baker, cousins of the groom.

Talan Collins was the junior groomsmen.

Bailey Jones was flower girl. Ashton Baker was ringbearer.

Vickie Lucus directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Suzie Baker.

A program of wedding music was provided by Lee Collins, pianist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at Hampton Inn ballroom.

After their wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica the couple will reside in Pink Hill.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party May 9 at Two Dogs Kenansville hosted by the groom’s parents; a Pampered Chef and recipe shower July 30 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baker hosted by Charlotte Baker; a bridal shower Aug. 29 at Pink Hill Methodist Church hosted by the groom’s family; a bridal shower Sept. 26 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Cook hosted by the bride’s family and friends; a Tupperware shower Oct. 16 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Collins hosted by Sarah Collins; and a bridal luncheon Oct. 24 at the Duplin Winery hosted by Charlotte Baker.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Maxwell’s Mill.
