LUDINGTON, Mich. — Amanda Leigh Hurley of Winston-Salem and Bradley Martin Johnson of Winston-Salem exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. at Wah Win Ga Cottage, with Dr. Philip Johnson, father of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Philip and Melody Pierce Johnson of Grand Rapids, Mich., and the granddaughter of the late Robert and Harriet White Pierce.

She is a graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School in Michigan and Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree. She is employed as an occupational therapist.

The groom is the son of Wesley Martin and Rhonda Snead Johnson of Goldsboro and the grandson of Donnie Martin and Ida Sessoms Johnson and Albert and Hazel Kennedy Snead of Goldsboro.

He is a 2001 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Appalachian State University with a BSBA degree in finance and banking. He is employed with the Social Security Administration in Winston-Salem.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Joshua Lane Hurley of Summerfield and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and an A-line skirt. The bodice was accented with bands of duplon and ornamented with lace embellished with Swarovski crystals, seed beads, bugle beads, pearls and sequins. Scalloped lace adorned the hemline and chapel-length train.

The bride carried a bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and calla lilies.

Miracle Hurley Balsitis of Boston, Mass., sister of the was her sister’s matron of honor.

Colby Scott Johnson of Goldsboro was his brother’s best man.

Nalani Hasto of Greenville, S.C., cousin of the bride, was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Tim Knauff of Granger, Ind., cousin of the bride, pianist; Yuke Tanaka of San Gabriel, Calif., cousin of the bride, guitarist; and Emily Boyce Marks of Graham, cousin of the groom, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner and dance reception at Wah Win Ga Cottage.

After their wedding cruise to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Winston-Salem.

Events held before the wedding included a shower at Morehead United Methodist Church in Greensboro hosted by Miracle Balsitis, sister of the bride, and the bride’s mother; a shower at the Bryan home hosted by JoAnn Bryan of Goldsboro and LaGray Marks of Greensboro, aunts of the groom, and Ida Johnson, grandmother of the groom; a shower at First Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by Donna Pike, aunt of the groom, and Hazel Snead, grandmother of the groom; a groom’s shower hosted by employees of the Social Security Administration in Winston-Salem; a bachelor dinner and night out in Raleigh hosted by Colby Johnson, brother of the groom; and a bachelorette night in Ludington hosted by friends and family of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner July 31 at Epworth Dining Room in Ludington.
