Chayer - Cruse
RALEIGH — Jacqueline Blushette Cruse of Virginia Beach, Va., and Trevor Barry Robert Chayer of Virginia Beach exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 17 at 5 p.m. at Cafe Luna, with Jim Laige officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Morris Lamont and Glenda Gene Wiseman Cruse of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Pony Bill Crews of Parkstown, Annie Lee Corbett of Snow Hill and the late Gene Maurice Wiseman and Gaynell Warwick of Goldsboro.
She is a 2000 graduate of Southern Wayne High School, a 2003 graduate of Wayne Community College and a 2006 graduate of Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in clinical research. She has worked as a certified clinical research coordinator in Norfolk, Va., the last three years. She is employed as a clinical research coordinator at Urology of Virginia.
The groom is the son of Kevin Barry and Regina Jo Crouteau Chayer of Garner and the grandson of the late Arthur of Caribou, Maine, Bjorg Chayer of Portland, Maine, and Robert Crouteau and the late Pauline Crouteau of Bethel, Maine.
He graduated from Denbigh High School in Virginia in 1998. He served in the Air Force as an information manager and completed tours in Kuwait and Afghanistan. He is serving at the National Weather Service in Norman, Okla.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore an ivory strapless wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline. It was constructed of tulle with lace and beading embellishments. It had a floor-length hemline with an A-line silhouette and a semi-cathedral train. The empire waist was met with three tiers of beading and lace with scalloped edges at each level that carried down to the floor. It had an ivory hand-beaded Lazaro sash around the waist at the reception. She also wore a Swarovski crystal necklace given to her by the groom on their wedding day.
Her headpiece was a cathedral ivory tulle edged with Swarovski crystals.
The bride carried a bouquet of light pink, fuchsia and cool-water roses wrapped in light pink ribbon and rhinestone cuffs.
Melissa Lynn Eason was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Marsha Louise Wells, sister of the bride, and Tammy Wicker Person and Angela Marie Brevelle, friends of the bride.
Jeremy David Chayer was best man.
Groomsmen were Joshua Arland Chayer, brother of the groom, and Josh Alan Brown, friend of the groom. Ushers were John Eason and Glenn Rodriguez.
Anna Louise Wells, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Abigail Lynn Wells, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Jarrett Conner Eason, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
Presiding at the register was Megan Welsh. Josh Brown distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Harvey Grady, DJ, and Ina Newell, harpist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Cafe Luna in Raleigh. Jeremy Chayer and Melissa Eason gave toasts.
The couple resides in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower in April at the home of Melissa Eason hosted by the matron of honor and other bridal party members.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Big Easy in Raleigh.
