NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH — Wendy Stanley Smith of Kinston and Brian Joseph Piro of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a single-ring beach ceremony May 15 at 6:30 p.m., with Bishop Richard Brown officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donald M. and Sandra R. Stanley of Deep Run and the granddaughter of Milton and Grace Stanley of Deep Run and Dorothy T. Rich and the late Edward F. Rich of Pink Hill.
She is a 2000 cum laude graduate of Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science degree in child development with a K-6 license. She is employed as a teacher with Lenoir County Public Schools.
The groom is the son of Randy Morrison of Uvalde, Texas and Cheryl A. Earnest of Mount Olive and the grandson of Jim and Judy Huelett of Fremont, Ill., and Donald and Elizabeth Coonfer of Hot Springs Village, Ark.
He graduated from Wayne Community College with an associate degree in science and art. He is employed as a research and lab tech at Southeast Laboratories.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her father and mother.
She wore a strapless gown with an embellished fitted bodice.
Her headpiece was pearl and rhinestone with a finger-tip-length veil.
The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of white roses and hydrangeas.
Delores Padgette was matron of honor.
Brad Michael Piro was best man.
Ushers were Donald Milton Stanley Jr. and Matthew Morrison.
Presiding at the register was Ilse Piro.
Kayland Adams and Linwood Tyndall were parking attendants.
A program of wedding music was provided by Craig Coonfer, guitarist.
A reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club May 16. Jessica Adams and Crystal Tyndall served refreshments.
After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Kinston.
Events held before the wedding included a giftcard shower hosted by Southeast Lab employees; a household/honeydo shower hosted by Kinston 2nd Ward friends; a bridal shower at Broken Eagle hosted by 6th grade co-workers from Woodington Middle School; and a girls’ night out/lingerie shower hosted by family and friends.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Seahorse Cafe in Topsail Beach.
