Brenda Faye Goodman and the Rev. Edward Raymond Drew exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony May 30 at 3 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Cris Noble and the Rev. Clifton Stringer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of the Rev. Willie Bell and Eunice Bell of Belvoir and the granddaughter of the late Willie and Athleen Bell and the late James and Eunice Harris.

She graduated from Washington High School. She is employed with AAA Cooper of Washington and is self-employed as a wedding coordinator, planner and decorator.

The groom is the son of Sue Drew of Greensboro and the late David Drew and the grandson of the late Warren and Mildred Drew and the late Edward and Winifred Klump.

He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations communications and Duke University Divinity School in 2003 with a master’s degree in divinity. He was ordained as an elder at the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is employed as the minister of Eureka United Methodist Church and a Biblical studies and world religions teacher at Pitt Community College in Winterville.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents on behalf of her family.

She wore an ivory satin gown accented with crystal beads and clusters of seed pearls. The fitted waistline led to a tufted floor-length skit that swept to a semi-cathedral train.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of roses and a variety of spring flowers.

Wendy Shea of Washington was her mother’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kim Toler of Hampton, Va., daughter-in-law of the bride; Laura Drew Caballero of Greensboro, niece of the groom; and Leigh Phillips of Washington.

Steven Drew of Greensboro was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Alton Toler of Hampton, son of the bride; Jason Drew of Greensboro, nephew of the groom; and Andy Price of Wilmington.

Honorary ushers were Mark Sauls of Eureka, Corey Toler of Hampton and Michael Yow of Washington, grandsons of the bride, and Randy Yelverton of Eureka.

Carolyn Drew, sister-in-law of the groom, was the interpreter.

Dottie Moore directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Gayle Noble. Ainsley Toler, granddaughter of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Robbie Caballero, pianist, and Becky Brock, Paula Greene and the Rev. Scott Wilkinson, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Eureka. They will reside in Conway after their new appointment.

Eureka United Methodist Church’s United Methodist Women hosted a rehearsal dinner May 29 in the church fellowship hall.
