Carr - Wood
MOUNT OLIVE — Kacey Lynn Wood and Gregory Brian Carr exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 10 at 7 p.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church, with Linda Grider officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Ricky Vann Wood and the late Lynda Lynn Hudson Wood of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Howard Wood, the late Veta Poe Wood and Ed and Shirley Hudson of Mount Olive.
The groom is the son of Gregory Allen and Zina Grady Carr of Mount Olive and the grandson of Christine Carr and the late Arthur Lee Carr of Princeton, W. Va., and Edna Grady and the late Albert Grady of Mount Olive.
She is a 2008 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and will attend James Sprunt Community College in the fall. She is employed with Andy’s of Pink Hill.
The groom is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as an Army medic with the North Carolina National Guard in Iraq.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a candlelight white gown with a beaded design and her late mother’s pearl necklace.
The bride carried a bouquet of yellow and white daisies.
Brittni Wood was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kayla Kornegay, cousin of the bride, and Ginger Hamm, cousin of the groom.
Gregory Allen Carr was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Bradley Carr and Benjamin Carr, brothers of the groom.
Ushers were Zollie Kornegay, uncle of the bride, and Jonathan Hamm, cousin of the groom.
Kelly Kornegay, cousin of the bride ,was flower girl.
Ronnie and Kay Bragg directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Mary Ann Beck. Micheal Reaves, friend of the couple, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Marilynn Hroza, pianist
Following the ceremony, Mary Ann Beck, aunt of the bride, Pamela Hamm, aunt of the groom, Brandy Hamm, cousin of the groom, and Dero and Carolyn Borroughs, friends of the couple, hosted a reception.
Events held before the wedding included a Pampered Chef shower April 7 hosted by Pat Kornegay.
Friends and family hosted a rehearsal dinner at the home of Zollie and Pat Kornegay.
