Hiatt - Martin
Stephanie Dawn Martin and Joshua David Hiatt exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 25 at 3 p.m. at Walnut Creek Country Club, with Tim Owens officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Andy and Patricia W. Martin of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Bob and Sue Martin of Goldsboro and Albert Williams Jr. and Betty F. Williams of Dudley.
She is a 2005 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2008 graduate of Mount Olive College with a Bachelor of Science degree in applied psychology.
The groom is the son of David and Melanie R. Hiatt of Goldsboro and the grandson of James and Connie Hiatt of Deming, N.M., Rolland Rock of Keesesville, N.Y., and the late Janet Rock of Plattsburgh, N.Y.
He is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2007 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in computer science.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white satin A-line dress with a chapel-length train with a lace-up corset back set inside a split-back panel that trailed down the backside of the gown. The gown is adorned with beaded and corded lace in a flower design.
Her headpiece was a trimmed fingertip veil with beaded flower accents.
The bride carried pink Gerber daisies, Japanese asters and miniature mums.
Samantha Overman was her cousin’s matron of honor, while
Bridesmaids were Melanie Adams, aunt of the bride; Sara Rouse and Anne Hiatt, sisters of the groom; and Samantha Pate, friend of the bride
David Hiatt was best man.
Groomsmen were Robby Martin, stepbrother of the bride; Alex Rouse, brother-in-law of the groom; Brett Clark, cousin of the groom; and Michael Pugh, friend of the groom.
Ushers were John Adams, uncle of the bride, and Kris Hiatt, uncle of the groom.
Joy Martin-Terry, aunt of the bride, was the honorary bridesmaid.
Abby Gibson was flower girl.
Cathy Green, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the autograph photo was Joy Martin-Terry, aunt of the bride. Aaron Terry, uncle of the bride, distributed programs and greeted guests.
A program of wedding music was provided by Ashley Hartley, friend of the bride, Kenwyn Dapo, cousin of groom, and Tim Owens, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club. Toni Williams, cousin of the bride, and Debbie Basden, aunt of the bride, assisted.
After a wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple resides in Alexandria, Va.
Events held before the wedding included a lingerie shower Feb. 28 at home of Samantha Overman hosted by Ms. Overman; a miscellaneous bridal shower Feb. 28 at Salem United Methodist Church hosted by the bride’s attendants; and an engagement party March 29 at home of Bob and Sue Martin hosted by Melanie Adams, Joy Martin-Terry and Ms. Martin.
A rehearsal dinner and dance was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
