Garver - Herring
LAGRANGE — April Nicole Herring and John Patrick Garver of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. at Garris Chapel United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jerry Mitchell officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Sherwin and Rebecca Ann Herring of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late John Henry and Emma Parks Fields, Blanche Massey Grice and the late C.D. Grice of Goldsboro.
She is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in business administration. She was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She is employed as a marketing director with Southco Distributing Co.
The groom is the son of Keith Mitchell and Frances Wilkinson Garver of Kannapolis and the grandson of David Lee and Marie Shirley Garver, Margaret Mansfield Wilkinson and the late R.W. Wilkinson of Kannapolis.
He is a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He is employed as a sales representative with Eastern Turf Equipment Inc.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a diamond white couture strapless gown with a modified sweetheart neckline. It had lace embroidery on the bodice at the side of gown to accent the ruching along the waist. It also had lace embroidery along the hem with an extended chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a single-tiered veil with scattered rhinestones.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white lilies, roses, and stephanotis.
Katie June Rutter of Raleigh was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Weeks Hott of New Bern, Wendi Jane Webb of Pinehurst, Molly Earnhardt Yukica of Beaufort, S.C., and Amy Marie Moore, Misty Suzette Ash, Chrissy McAlpin Taylor and Heather Kearney Sebastianelli of Raleigh.
Keith Mitchell Garver was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Lee Harrison Garver of Greenville, Kevin Sherwin Herring and Jay Bishop Lloyd of Raleigh, George Andrew Pittman of Wilmington, Scott David Lang of Nashville, Zachary Webb Alford of Columbia, S.C., and Brandon Daniel Blackman of Monroe.
Kaye Thompson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Pittman, cousin of the groom. Nina Kragnes, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jason Cox, pianist and vocalist, and Jamie Cox, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.
After a wedding trip to the Mayan Riveria, Mexico, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a wedding day brunch Nov. 8 at the home of Joyce Wooten hosted by Mrs. Wooten; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Nov. 7 at Walnut Creek Country Club hosted by the bride’s mother; a luncheon Nov. 2 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Shirley hosted by the Shirleys; a Christmas Shower Oct. 27 at the home of Nichole Hill hosted by co-workers of the bride; a bachelorette weekend Oct. 17 through 19 in Charleston, S.C., hosted by friends; a bachelor weekend Sept. 12 through 14 in Charlotte hosted by friends; a bridal shower Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church in Kannapolis hosted by friends of the groom’s mother; a miscellaneous shower Sept. 7 at Garris Chapel Church hosted by the bride’s family; a bridal shower Aug. 24 at the home of Amy Moore hosted by the bridesmaids; a Home Interiors shower Aug. 17 at the home of Dana Sutton hosted by Ms. Sutton, Wendy Whitfield and Brandy Edwards; and an engagement party July 19 at the home of Jay Lloyd hosted by friends of the couple.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the home of the bride’s parents.
