Floars - Rose
Casey Lynn Rose and Bobby Darryl Floars Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Jackson and the Rev. Dann Patrick officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael Jennings and Donna Davis Rose of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Lillie Rose, the late Needham Rose, Mattie Davis and the late Robert Davis of Goldsboro.
She is a 2001 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and attended Liberty University. She is employed as an administrative assistant at Allstate Financial Services.
The groom is the son of Bobby Darryl and Tammy Hamm Floars of Goldsboro and the grandson of Bobby Gene and Norma Floars and Albert James and Patricia Hamm of Goldsboro.
He is a 2004 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and attends Southeastern Free Will Baptist College for an associate degree in business and a bachelor degree in secondary education.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a a formal gown of white satin with a bodice of pearls and beading. The A-line skirt cascaded into a chapel-length train.
Her headpiece was a single-layer elbow-length veil with pearl embellishments attached to a comb of pearls and rhinestones.
The bride carried an arrangement of pale pink roses tied together with a single layer of tulle from her mother’s veil.
Stevee Rose was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Blaire Sloan, sister of the groom; Lori Herring, T.K. Garris of Charleston, S.C., Sara Sutton, Holly Dawson and Kelly Dawson, cousins of the groom; Christie Woodard, Kascia Henderson, Meredith Justice and Sarah Marcum, friends of the bride; and Anne Davis of Atlanta, Ga., cousin of the bride.
Darryl Floars was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Brad Floars and Blake Floars, brothers of the groom; Stephen Sloan, brother-in-law of the groom; Drew Floars, Cole Dawson, Aaron Pendergraft of Florence, S.C. and Austin Pendergraft of Wilson, cousins of the groom; and Corey Wormington, Floydie Harris, Michael Paramore and Tommy Moran, friends of the groom.
Whitley Herring, friend of the bride, was flower girl. Garrett Pendergraft, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.
Sue Floars directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Jim and Gina Maxwell, cousins of the bride, and Mike and Connie Millard, uncle and aunt of the bride. Lily Page Maxwell, cousin of the bride, and Catherine Cooke, friend of the bride, distributed programs.
Matthew Hamm was bellringer.
A program of wedding music was provided by Machelle Kingsley, pianist, and Jason Haas, Britney Butler, Brent Little, Lori Herring, the Rev. Christian Powell and the Rev. David Johnson, vocalists.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Scott Hamm was director. Reception attendants were Jackie Longwell and Emily Lucas. Hailey Oakely, Don and Jessica Clark and Mike and Karen Woodard greeted guests. Tracey Pendergraft and Kim Floars, aunts of the groom, served the wedding cake. Katie and Abby Millard, cousins of the bride, served the groom’s cake. Lily Davis, cousin of the bride, distributed wedding sparklers.
After a wedding trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal brunch Oct. 17 at the home of Patricia Hamm, grandmother of the groom hosted by Tracey Pendergraft, Michele Overton and Carolyn Hardison; a shower Sept. 29 at the home of Karen Woodard hosted by ladies of Faith Free Will Baptist Church; a shower Sept. 28 at Freedom Baptist Church hosted by Joanna Whitfield and Tammy Batson; a lingerie shower Sept. 27 at the home of Lori Herring hosted by Ms. Herring; a groom’s weekend Sept. 22 at Lake Gaston hosted by Cole Dawson, cousin of the groom; and a kitchen shower Sept. 20 hosted by Louise and T.K. Garris.
The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 17 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
